About Yamp Camp Deer Park
Yamp Camp Deer Park sits just outside Eridge in East Sussex, offering a low-key base for exploring the High Weald. The site welcomes campfires and dogs, and facilities cover the basics: showers, toilets, drinking water and waste disposal. Choose from 60 non-electric grass pitches or three furnished bell tents if you'd rather skip the tent-pitching.
It's family-friendly and straightforward, though don't expect frills—there's no Wi-Fi, so you're properly off-grid. The location works well for day trips into the surrounding countryside or nearby market towns, and the relaxed vibe suits campers after a no-fuss night under canvas rather than a resort experience.

What visitors say
Decent location and cheap but otherwise not much to be happy about. The grassy camping area was well maintained. Maintenance of the washblock was very poor. Almost all toilet and shower doors didn’t lock. One of the three showers was out of order, in both the men’s and women’s block. Men’s showers didn’t even have hooks for your towel. Toilets quickly ran out of paper. No hand soap provided. One of the women’s toilets had a wasp infestation!! Lights over the sinks didn’t work. I don’t think the toilet/shower block was cleaned the whole weekend, tons of grass and mud accumulated on the floor. I know it’s cheap but that doesn’t mean it’s ok to be dirty. A cheap price should mean the facilities are basic, but not unclean. That’s the bare minimum. Warden Shane was not very helpful. Did not space out guests properly. The Deer Park Cafe is very nice but this is not affiliated with the camp site, but it is nice to have nearby.

What a joke of a campsite. It was just the two of us on a cycling holiday through the UK. Everywhere we went, we were welcomed normally and enthusiastically, but the manager here was a truly pathetic little man. At first, he acted normally when we set up the tent, but then his payment method didn't work and he took it out on us. The manager got a call from his boss and rushed at us like a puppy. Out of nowhere, he became furious and started threatening to call the police if we didn't pay immediately, even though we had told the man 5 minutes earlier that we were coming over to sort it out. If you are even too stupid to treat your campsite guests normally, you haven't made it very far in life.

We stayed 3 nights here and loved it. It was nice, quiet, clean and very peaceful. Colin was great and spaced out the guests to optimise guest experience, checked in on us daily and was a great host. Our young boys loved exploring in the forest, counting ladybirds in the grass and the amount of space they could freely move around in. The site is located next to an independent cafe, is within walking distance to pub and short drive to amenities in Royal Tunbridge Wells. We'll be back!

We stayed at Deer Park for two nights as a couple in their 20s. Colin, the site manager, who greeted us was friendly, helpful and hilarious. We were slightly late booking in, and it wasn’t an issue at all. The site was very quiet and surprisingly spacious with more than enough room for our tent, car, and (eventually) a fire. We didn’t even realise there was another field until our second day! The cafe was a lovely touch and super busy with non campers. Fire pit was provided and wood can be purchased which was a lovely end to the day. The toilets and showers were clean as can be. And the showers were very hot! We had a lovely time and definitely plan on returning with some more friends!! Thank you Colin for making us feel welcome!!
