Tide Flushing

Last night, my partner and I decided to treat ourselves to a meal out at the recently opened Tide Flushing restaurant on Flushing Quay. We booked an early table at 5.30 pm, as we both enjoy eating early, and were seated at a wonderful little table tucked away in the corner. It was the perfect spot to enjoy both our food and each other's company quietly and intimately. The redecoration of the space has completely transformed its feel. It is now light, airy, and continental in style, creating a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. Even the toilets feel luxurious. Charlotte is a friendly and conscientious host, and from the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely looked after by her and the rest of the team. The wine list includes some interesting and unusual choices, and we enjoyed the opportunity to step outside our comfort zone with a White Rioja, which proved to be the perfect pairing for our seafood selections. To start, we chose the ham croquette and the scallops. Both dishes were delicious and moreish, leaving us wanting just one more bite. For our mains, we were delighted to see John Dory featured as the fish of the day. It was beautifully cooked and served with a brown butter, tiny shrimp and samphire sauce. My partner chose the Pollock Kiev, which was not only delicious but a work of architectural art on the plate. We really should have stopped there, but in the spirit of fully embracing the experience, we shared a Burty's Brownie for dessert. Crikey! Rich, sweet and intensely chocolatey, this is definitely not a dessert for the faint-hearted. The true measure of any restaurant is whether you would recommend it to others, and in the case of Tide Flushing, we absolutely would. Thoughtful service, beautifully presented food, a lovely atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience from start to finish. We look forward to returning.

Beautiful place for food on the water, the staff are so welcoming and just overall fantastic. The restaurant is very allergy friendly and perfect for celiacs like myself. The Truffle chips and Burty’s brownie were both delicious I would definitely recommend. Looking forward to come back !
