Upon exploring the Spitafields neighborhood of London I ran across the beautifully designed front of The Astronomer. Upon entering there is such wonderful bold choices for design that are smart and really wonderfully curated. Framed art is everywhere to tie into the stellar themes. One of the best Fish & Chips in the city! And large and beautifully presented! I could easily share one entree of it! The chips were perfect and all of the condiments that accompany them. Nate was a wonderfully welcoming bartender who knew his menu and made amazing cocktails! It was fun talking with him and reminded me that The Astronomer is part of a great collections of businesses that participate in the “London Pub Crawl’ complete with passports and stamps that one must get in order to ‘play’ to which I say ‘challenge accepted!’ The manager Jessica was kind and welcoming and told me things to do in this hood and the fun Milka is a bright star of this place that I look forward to seeing again! The Astronomer is not to be missed while in East London and if it’s part of a pub crawl this is a great place to start! I look forward to being back later this summer and enjoy this thing they have downstairs called ‘The Rocket Room’ - so cool! The Planets align here and we shall return for sure!

Nice pub with good service. The Sunday roast was a nice surprise! I liked the yorkshire pudding even though everyone else found it too dry. I liked how crunchy it was! The mocktails were ok.

Beautiful little spot with a few outdoor tables in the shade. Daniela was very friendly and had good recommendations. The fish and chips was amply portioned.

We had our work christmas lunch here. It was nice atmosphere and the service was organised. Food wise was just ok. I ordered beef with mash potato, the beef was tender but lack of flavour. The mash potato was a bit lumpy and bland, not as buttery and fluffy as I expected. The cheesecake and chocolate brownie were ok.
