About Fassfern Guesthouse
Fort William sits at the foot of Ben Nevis and along the shore of Loch Linnhe, making it a natural base for walking and touring the Highlands, and Fassfern Guesthouse occupies a spot on Achintore Road with views across the water to the hills beyond. It's a modest, unpretentious B&B rather than a grand hotel, but that straightforward character is part of its appeal.
Rooms are simple and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in-room, and free Wi-Fi throughout. Many rooms take in sea views or mountain views, and guests can start the day with breakfast before heading out to explore. A garden gives space to sit outside, and reception operates around the clock for easy arrivals and late returns.
Free on-site parking makes it convenient for those touring by car, and the guesthouse is well placed for golf, fishing, and walking nearby, with pubs, restaurants and other eateries within easy reach. Fort William itself is under a mile away, putting shops and the town centre within a short walk.
What guests say
My husband and I came for a wedding and it is our first time in Scotland. We didn’t have much time to plan, but decided to go on a road trip. The hotels so far had been awful. First one in renovation, tiny rooms, smelly rooms, shared bathroom with guests pounding door at 6am, heating issues and so on. Then, our booking got canceled because of a website problem and we had to find another one right away. We got the last room available at the Fassfern Guesthouse and what a gem this is! The room is spacious, beautifully decorated, warm, private bathroom, everything pristine. The owners are very welcoming, helpful and polite. The city center is at walking distance. The Guest House is well maintained and even the garden is tailored and beautiful. If we knew, we wouldn’t had gone to Oban. Fassfern Guesthouse has a view of the beautiful hills and Loch Linnhe. City is cleaner. We absolutely loved it here.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable night there. It's close to the town centre. Breakfast was very good. Parking was good. Room a bit on the small side but had everything we needed.

We stayed at Fassfern Guesthouse for two nights over Valentine’s Day - and it was lovely! Above & beyond our expectations. Our room was beautiful, and we received a very warm welcome upon our arrival! We got the train to Fort William & found that the location of the guesthouse was ideal! So close to the town, and such a lovely view. The lady who served us breakfast in the mornings was very kind & accommodating & the breakfast itself was super tasty :) My only suggestion would be to replace the AI ‘artwork’ in room 3 with some art by local artists - we did feel that it took away ever so slightly from the elegance of the room.We hope to return next time we’re up that way, we really enjoyed ourselves. A definite 5 stars! 🌟
