Amazing house to stay at. We had 3 nights here and loved it.. the staff are awesome and go out of their way to make you really feel at home.. the breakfast is wonderful and they can cater to all needs.. The grounds are well maintained and worth a walk around.. plenty of history in the house itself. Whether you stay there or go a day trip it’s worth a visit.. the maze is fun.

Absolutely stunning grounds. We visited for the Traquair Medieval Fayre, highly recommended this stellar annual event, replete with tasty food, exciting events including jousting, axe-throwing and falconry as well as weapons demos and living history. Lovely shops, some fabulous local booze to sample and buy, and lots of brilliant places to plant yourself for the day! Family camping also available for the event! We'll be back next year, for sure! ⚔️😊🍻

Absolutely fantastic in every way imaginable! The rooms were so very comfortable - and warm. The staff were lovely, and extraordinarily accommodating and gracious! The food was excellent! The house is a beautiful home as well as a repository of history. There are hours of enjoyment to be had on the grounds. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Were down for the medieval fayre and was so impressed by everything - the stalls, the displays, the demonstrations and the maze, which you should definitely go in. And get lost for 45 mins like we did. Honestly, it's bigger than you think. The jousting tourney was fantastic, and worth the price of admission alone, but there were also story tellers and a really informative man who was demoing a musket, as well as melee weapon displays at stalls. Great stuff, and really good atmosphere from start to finish. The sequence of events was well laid out and seemed to go off without a hitch, all in all was a great day - first time for us, will definitely be back.
