About Revolver

Revolver suits travellers after a sociable, no-fuss base in the middle of Glasgow rather than a quiet retreat. With 96 rooms just off Virginia St, it works well for weekend groups, solo visitors and anyone happy to trade some peace for a central address, given that some rooms can pick up noise from the surrounding area.

Rooms are adults-only and come with en-suite bathrooms, lockers and privacy curtains, and guests consistently find the beds comfortable and the spaces well kept. There's a lift for easier access, drinks available in the room, and free WiFi throughout. On site, guests can use the gym, spa and sauna, eat at the restaurant, or head to the bar and outdoor seating area. Breakfast and laundry service are both available, and there's an electric vehicle charge point, though the hotel itself has no parking on site.

The location puts guests within easy reach of Argyle Street and the Scottish Event Campus, with plenty of pubs, bars and restaurants nearby, plus entertainment and a golf course in the wider area. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, which goes some way towards making up for the occasional noise some guests have noted in their rooms.

I stayed in a private room with shared facilities. The room was modern, clean, and had everything I needed. They provide earplugs, which you'll want, the proximity to the dance clubs is real! That's also what makes the location so good though. You're close to plenty of restaurants, clothing stores, and tourist attractions, all walkable. The shared facilities were spotless and smelt good and I always had a hot shower, which I really appreciated. But it's the service after my stay that I want to rave about. I left my AirPods in the bed (I'd been using them instead of the earplugs) and only realised once I'd reached my next destination. The staff found them, kept them safe, and even posted them on to me so I could get them back. Nothing was damaged or missing. I'm so grateful and genuinely amazed at how they went above and beyond to help. Thank you!

Perfect hostel setup. Has lift, extra washrooms and shower at each floor. The dorm rooms have a small pantry with cooking facility and drinking water. Unfortunately the bed I got wasn’t very clean (not fresh blanket and bedsheet) hence reduced 1 star. There’s a small pool table and great sitting area. Staff is great. Very welcoming and they treat everyone with respect. I wish I had booked this place for long instead of Safestay.

Staff was friendly and always around to help out. I can only speak for the second floor, as that’s where I stayed during my visit. I stayed in a shared dorm which felt too small for the number of people accommodated. There was no ventilation in either the room or the bathroom, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. I can only imagine how unpleasant it must be during the summer months. The mattresses could use replacing, as it felt like I was sleeping directly on the springs. The showers also need attention since there was no way to adjust the water temperature. While there was some obvious noise coming from the nightclub, it was actually less disturbing than the constant noise from the hostel doors. Overall, I feel the hostel should invest in some improvements considering the price charged per night.

Useful for a one night stand as every hostel are. The hotel is modern, well équipes (plug on the cabin, lockers..), service is very good and it's clean. But there is not enough toilet for each room (2 toilets for like 40 persons ?!), the hostel is next to a dancing bar with music not bad isolated but you hear it as well and the doors are like very loud which quite sad in a place where people sleep and come and go. Otherwise and as every hostel, it's quite depending of the person you will be with in the room. For the price you may find some private room in hotels places evem at the city centre (Point A for example). It's really depend what you are looking for as it isn't a bad hostel and big up for the queer safe place it's important to mention.
