The Coachman Hotel

Had a wonderful meal with my mums extended family. The waiting staff were all so sweet and attentive, plus they put up with our noise levels 😂 and took lovely photos of our group at their flower wall. Food was so much better than the last time I was there (a few years ago) very reasonably priced and we’ll definitely go back.

Absolutely dire. Have been here once before and it was fantastic. Food and service excellent. Yesterday however was a completely different story. We waited almost an hour for a prawn cocktail which half way through was found to have a foreign body in it. Very unsure what it was, it looked like a mouldy toenail!! Possibly a piece of chicken skin...unsure though. I must say in the hotel's defence the manageress could not have been nicer, very apologetic for something that wasn't her fault, the chef should be apologising, not her. The waiting staff were also very apologetic and embarrassed about the situation and again I say it wasn't their fault we had a terrible experience. This is one of those dining experiences that was outwith the control of management and waiting staff, it's the chef who should be thoroughly ashamed sending out food like that after an hour's wait .. appalling standards. I don't think we will be back but again thank you for the excellent service by waiting staff and management.

Great choice of food on the menu's. You can choose 2 or 3 courses for a fixed price. The puddings looked amazing

Visited for lunch with a couple of friends, been a few times before and never disappointed. Ordered a steak pie from the main menu which was not good. I wasn’t expecting it to be served in a ramekin which had been clearly sitting under a hot plate for some time. Vegetables were dry and totally unappetising as was the steak pie. If that wasn’t bad enough the cost was EXTREMELY overpriced!
