Captain Jack’s

Porthmadog is a working harbour town on the Gwynedd coast, known for its steam railway heritage and as a base for exploring Snowdonia. The seafront sits busy with restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance, while Black Rock Sands sprawls a mile away with its dunes and wide beach. Captain Jack's is a one-bedroom apartment set back slightly from the town, reached by the historic Grisiau Mawr steps.

The property is all on ground level, arranged as an open-plan living space with a patio that opens from the main room. You get a double bed, a bathroom with bath and shower, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, gas hob, microwave and all the usual appliances. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. One well-behaved pet stays free. The garden has a patio area and BBQ. Smoking is not permitted inside.

The location works well for families: the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Steam Railway is on the doorstep, Portmeirion's folly architecture is a short drive away, and Zip World and Bounce Below sit inland near Blaenau Ffestiniog. Harlech's castle and beach are further along the coast. The surrounding hills have walking and bike trails throughout. There are 12 steps down into the garden and steep internal stairs; the check-in time is after 16:00, departure before 10:00.
