About Premier Inn Porthmadog

Walk into a room at Premier Inn Porthmadog and you'll find a comfortable bed, an en-suite bathroom and, in many rooms, a view over the estuary or the surrounding mountains. Across the hotel's 80 rooms there are family and accessible options, air conditioning, free WiFi and space to relax after a day out, with drinks available in room and a lift serving all four floors.

Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar for breakfast and evening meals, plus 24 hour reception for whenever you arrive. Free on-site parking is available, though it's first-come, first-served, with a chargeable car park at Y Ganolfan on High Street a few minutes' walk away as a backup. An electric vehicle charge point is also on site.

The hotel's setting on Britannia Terrace in Porthmadog puts guests within easy reach of Portmeirion, Black Rock Sands and the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway, while walking, cycling, fishing and watersports can all be arranged nearby. Staff on site are noted for being helpful, and the location works well as a base for exploring this part of Gwynedd.

On the 29th June - my birthday, my partner and I spent four most enjoyable days at Porthmadog’s Premier Inn. We unexpectedly found it more than lived up to our expectations. All staff, from Manager Stephen to duty managers from Blaenau and the particularly lovely Carina, were warm, friendly and helpful, all equally interchangeable in hotel roles. Our large superior room, with a fridge, was very clean and well-equipped. Housekeeping standards were high, with daily towel changes. The restaurant menu offered plenty of choice, with a breakfast menu, dinner, and a drink deal proving good value. We were surprised to find cold Prosecco and lovely biscuits in our room for my birthday. We would highly recommend this hotel, with lovely sea and steam-train views. Marilyn Inwood, Shrewsbury.

I’m leaving this review for one member of staff: Carina. Oh my goodness. What a lovely member of staff. She was amazing to my children, especially my little boy Elliott. And what a lovely woman in general. A proper credit to your premier inn. We have been twice before and will come back again. That being said, the rooms are great, other staff are lovely and the breakfast is great too! Brilliant location also. See you soon carina and all the other staff members. Thank you 🙏 ❤️

Housekeeping in bedrooms left a lot to be desired (losts of dust and stains on carpets on windowsills). Parking can be a challenge as spaces are limited but staff are generally pleasant and helpful and hotel is in very easy walking distance of town centre, hence the reason for an extra star instead of three.

A short walk from the mainline train station. Our room looked out on the steam train line, and you could see trains going past. Comfy bed, and a good shower. We had an evening meal, and a drink in the bar on another day. Both times, the staff were friendly and efficient.
