Cadair Idris dominates the horizon from this detached cottage, which sits in private grounds on the mountain's lower slopes near Dolgellau. The location puts you within reach of serious walking territory—the peak itself, forest trails through Coed-y-Brenin, and the riverside paths that thread through Snowdonia National Park. A pub lies less than a mile away, and the market town of Dolgellau is close enough for supplies or an evening out.
The cottage balances original character with practical comfort. Two bedrooms—one with a king bed and en-suite, one arranged as king or twin—sit upstairs under exposed beams. Downstairs, the open-plan space centres on a log-burning stove set in an inglenook fireplace, with a country-style kitchen and dining area opening onto a large patio via French doors. Underfloor heating runs across the ground floor. Three bathrooms include a wet room with a rain shower and a second bathroom with a deep slipper bath. The garden is the real draw: multiple lawns cascade down the slope, mature trees provide shelter, a stream runs through, and seating ranges from a picnic table to an Indian firepit and grill. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The cottage sleeps four and welcomes one pet. No smoking.
