The Farmhouse sits deep in oak woodland within Eryri National Park, accessible only by a rough gravel track through RSPB-protected land—a setting that demands a 4×4 vehicle, especially in winter. What you find at the end is a rural retreat for two, with views towards Cadair Idris and dark skies suited to stargazing. The property is yours alone, with no other guests sharing the space.
One bedroom with a double bed, one bathroom with underfloor heating, and a living area centred on a working fireplace make up the interior. The kitchen is equipped for cooking: a Range cooker, fridge, freezer and microwave mean you can prepare meals rather than rely on takeaways. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided. Central heating keeps the rooms warm. A TV is available if you want it, though the isolation and the landscape are likely to be the main draw.
The surrounding area is an SSSI with natural spring water and clean air; Dolgellau, a market town at the base of Cadair Idris, is a short drive away for provisions, cafés and pub meals. Walkers and cyclists will find the mountains and trails immediately accessible. One dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted in the property.

What guests say
We have friends close by to the Old Farmhouse, we stayed there for two nights bed and breakfast. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with plush bedding, curtains and blinds. Tea and coffee facilities, a large shower room with sink and WC. Wardrobe which was big enough for a weeks stay, baskets at the bottom for storage, a fridge, and a ceiling fan with lights. The breakfasts are really tasty and beautiful with local produce, there's cereals, and fruit and yogurt, all beautifully prepared and a very tasty full breakfast to finish off with. I really want to say that Christina and Paul are the most lovely hosts, nothing is to much trouble, they are very nice people. We will be going back again, as this b and b, with the local sites is enough to take you back time and time again. Let's not forget the quite large heated pool , kept very clean and warm when in. It's a real treasure, and I hope this review will be enough to prove this is a gem of a place. It's also dog friendly, which is a bonus. We thank again Christina and Paul for a memorable stay.

We had a beautiful stay at the Farmhouse. Paul and Christina are the most kind and thoughtful hosts. Every little detail was perfect. We particularly enjoyed the pool and the breakfast each morning. We will definitely be back! 11/10!

The old farmhouse has been given a new shine of life as a modern, very well-equipped B&B, powered by renewable energy on the roof. Everything is well thought out and in the right place. And there is a swimming pool in the beautiful grounds, where dogs are also very welcome - just like everywhere else in Wales! Breakfast is prepared in front of our eyes in the open kitchen of the breakfast room, combined with nice conversations and great recommendations from the host family. This place on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park is the ideal starting point for the most beautiful area in Wales. Waterfalls, forests, endless sandy beaches (lots of fun for our dogs), castles and always nice little villages make this place an oasis of well-being.
