Grantown-on-Spey sits at the heart of the Cairngorms, surrounded by moorland, forest and some of Scotland's most distinctive peaks. Three miles away, Wester Laggan Cottage occupies an elevated position on a working farm, catching views across the Strathspey valley toward the mountain range. The detached stone building is traditional in character, set up entirely on the ground floor for ease of access.
Three bedrooms sleep six: a kingsize with ensuite shower, a second kingsize, and a twin that converts to a kingsize on request. There is a second bathroom with bath and shower. The living room has a wood-burner and Freeview TV. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with two ovens, dishwasher and washing machine. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels, wifi and logs for the burner are included. You have parking for three cars and a patio with garden furniture. The cottage does not permit smoking.
The area is known for outdoor pursuits: hiking, mountain biking, climbing, skiing and fly-fishing on the River Spey all draw visitors. The Strathspey Steam Railway runs heritage trains, and the Whisky Trail connects distilleries across the region. For families, the Highland Wildlife Park at Kincraig is nearby. Dulnain Bridge has a restaurant and pub a short drive away; Grantown itself offers more shops, cafés and restaurants.
