About Holiday Inn Express Inverness
Holiday Inn Express Inverness suits travellers who want a straightforward, comfortable base for exploring the Highlands rather than a destination in itself - road-trippers heading to Loch Ness, golfers, business visitors passing through, or anyone travelling with a dog in tow. It sits in Stoneyfield, within reach of Inverness city centre and its castle, with free on-site parking a genuine draw for those covering ground by car.
The hotel has 94 rooms, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms and free WiFi. Breakfast is a highlight, with a good range of choices including vegan sausages and a pancake machine, and hot drinks are available around the clock. There's also a bar, snack bar, and drinks in the room for anyone settling in for the evening, plus practical extras like laundry service, luggage storage and meeting rooms for business stays.
Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, though service can be a little uneven at busier times. Nearby, guests can find a golf course, pubs, restaurants and other eateries, making it easy to eat out or head off for entertainment without much of a walk. It's a functional, well-equipped stop for seeing Inverness and the wider Highlands rather than a lingering retreat.
What guests say
My stay at Holiday Inn Inverness was truly an excellent experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed — the staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and attentive. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable, perfect after a long day of travelling. One of the highlights was how well the hotel treated my dog. We received a small gift for him, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture. Details like this really make a difference and show that the hotel is genuinely pet‑friendly, not just in name. The breakfast was another pleasant surprise — fresh products, plenty of choice, and a relaxed atmosphere. The location of the hotel is also great, making it easy to explore the area and access the main routes. I would happily stay here again.

To be fair, we paid too much for this so-called 3 stars. When we arrived our room was not cleaned. Hopefully they changed us the room however the room is more fit of a 2 stars rather than a 3. Even the breakfast was disappointing, with almost no options or not enough food for all the guests in the hotel. If you want to visit Inverness region, I am pretty sure you can find something else in the same price ranges with at least a better breakfast option and bigger rooms.

Wonderful experience, clean rooms, peaceful place, friendly staff, free coffee for guests. Ample parking space all free. It's location is also great just an hour from fort Augustus and 15 min from the city centre. Overall great experience, highly recommended. The breakfast is good with good options for an English style breakfast and cereal and porridge. You can even ask for vegan sausages. There's is a cute and small automatic pancake making machine aswell. The lobby has comfortable seating and a TV. You can grab a free coffee or drinks and just sit in the lobby in peace enjoying your drink. Just one thing if your booking via third party websites they can't change the booking for you, however if you book from their own website they can change the room or bed for you.

Stayed here for two nights on a trip to Inverness. The staff here are outstanding, and the included breakfast is nice. The free parking lot is great, and we liked that it was a 3 minute walk to the shopping centre that has a Tesco, Boots etc. The bus ride from the shopping centre is easy access to downtown Inverness which is also good as we needed a break from driving. We’ll definitely be coming back and I have to mention the awesome staff one more time!
