About Island Pods

A trip to Mull promises gorgeous scenery, wildlife spotting and scenic walks – and at Island Pods, part of the Benmore Estate, you can do all that while cosying up in a luxury glamping pod with stunning views across sea and hills. The location between Loch Ba and Loch na Keal is peacefully tucked away yet close to major roads, making it ideal for exploring the island's many attractions while providing a comfortable base to return to.

Each pod feels more boutique hotel than camping, with ensuite shower room, fully equipped kitchen, Freesat TV, wifi and underfloor heating. Fishing enthusiasts will find excellent spots for brown trout and Atlantic salmon nearby, while others might fancy bagging a munro, spotting sea eagles and puffins, or visiting Tobermory (25 minutes' drive) for its colourful harbour and ferry connections. Electric vehicle charging points add a thoughtful eco-friendly touch for those exploring Scotland's west coast in greener wheels.

Had a lovely stay here with a friend. Our pod had everything we needed and was clean. Loved the campfire and honesty box to pick up wood, plus firestarter found under the sink. The fluffy towels and underfloor heating is very cozy. Beautiful location and central in the island. Sheep and horses around, close to a rocky beach that you can walk down and watch seabirds. Quiet at night. Only issue was that we thought we had a king sized bed but it seems it's only about a queen.

The view is undoubtably wonderful. It’s very quiet, scenic and lots of lovely wildlife around. There are nice surroundings for a walk or a bike ride. The pod itself was lovely and cosy, modern and clean. It was lovely and warm too as the pod seemed to retain quite a lot of heat. The overall experience was lovely but sadly the reason I can’t give a 5 stars was due to the complexity of the cooking equipment. The oven was a microwave/oven and was a nightmare to work. I think they’ve tried to combine a facility to save on space but it was stressful trying to make some tea. They have left instruction manuals but on holiday I don’t want to have to spend time sitting reading manuals. Once we got it working there then wasn’t enough oven trays to make the food. There was one oven dish so we couldn’t cook more than one thing at a time. It was lovely cabin otherwise

This was a first time solo trip, the pod was spotless, very roomy and comfortable, the staff on site were kind and very helpful when needed. The views from the site were incredible with Loch Na Keal and Loch Ba on wither side making for som great walks and chances for some wildlife spotting, such as deer, buzzards and the many song birds in the mornings. Would highly recommend to anyone that asked. Overall fantastic.

A beautiful place to stay that I’d definitely recommend or book again. The pods are beautifully designed and very cozy, with an amazing view. The facilities leave nothing to be desired — the kitchen has everything you need, the bathroom is well equipped, and the bed is extremely comfortable. Everything was spotless and felt brand new. It’s a place where you immediately feel at home.
