Packed lunches made up on request set Amble House apart from the average bed and breakfast, a small practical touch for guests heading out to Derwentwater or onto the Lake District's walking trails for the day. This is a modest, low-key guesthouse on Eskin Street in Keswick, with straightforward, simply decorated rooms rather than anything showy.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi and drinks available in room, and breakfast is included to set guests up before a day outdoors. There's outdoor seating for warmer mornings and a 24 hour reception for flexible arrivals and departures.
Keswick's surroundings do the rest of the work: the area is well suited to cycling and walking, with golf, fishing, horse riding and watersports all nearby, plus pubs, restaurants and other eateries within easy reach for evenings after a day on the fells or the water.

Lovely hosts, Jacqui and Graham are so lovely and helpful. Breakfast is superb, really high quality and a great choice. Brought to the table with big smiles and morning small talk. Rooms are well furnished and exceptionally clean, serviced daily. Highly recommended!

Perfect hosts.....Jacqui and Graham are very welcoming. Plenty of thought had gone in to the facilities in my room. Bottle of water, biscuits, tea and coffee etc. Immaculately clean and tidy. Beds very comfy with soft pillows and towels. First class breakfast with plenty of choice. Will definitely be paying them both a visit next time I'm in Keswick.

We had a wonderful short break enjoying the warmest hospitality from Jacqui, Graham and Tilly the dog. The room was beautiful, comfortable, spacious and immaculate, tea and coffee making facilities with a selection of teas and coffees, biscuits replenished each day, small thoughtful details such as the “makeup remover” in the shower room, again replaced every day, and lovely complementary toiletries also in the shower room. Graham’s breakfasts are stuff of legend! Everything you could possibly want to set you up for a day’s exploring and walking in this beautiful part of the Lake District. Thoroughly recommend Amble House for your Lake District holiday.

Weather may not have been good, but the welcome at Amble House was warm as usual. Room clean and comfortable, breakfast great choice and excellent. Just returned from another lovely stay at Amble House, they have been working to improve an already great place, new double glazing will certainly help on colder days. We had a great welcome and the breakfast was very good, many thanks to Jacqui and Graham.
