Thornthwaite puts walkers and cyclists right at the fells, with routes leading out from the doorstep and Keswick itself only a short drive away for the shops, restaurants and lake shore of the wider Lake District National Park. Fishing, golf and watersports are all within reach nearby, and a pub and restaurant close by mean an evening out doesn't require much planning.

Just wow what an incredible stay from start to finish! John, Eddy and Matthew were truly 5* hosts. From the moment we arrived, they greeted us so warmly and made us feel completely at home. Their hospitality and attention to detail really made our anniversary weekend extra special. Our bedroom and en suite were huge, beautifully presented and absolutely immaculate, spotless throughout and so comfortable. The location itself is simply stunning, with the most beautiful views overlooking Skiddaw, making it the perfect peaceful escape. Breakfast was such a lovely personal touch and something we really looked forward to each morning. Set in the cosy conservatory with the radio softly playing, there was a wonderful selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and juice to help ourselves to. This was then followed by a delicious full cooked breakfast, served with toast, butter, jams and marmalade, all accompanied by tea and coffee. We honestly felt so spoilt during our stay and cannot thank John, Eddy and Matthew enough for their kindness and hospitality. A truly memorable experience and somewhere we cannot wait to return to. We stayed here for our Anniversary and Baby-moon. What a beautiful place to stay. John was extremely helpful and great host. Breakfast was wonderful and great choice for everyone. The B&B location is beautiful and view is incredible and it quite. There lovely little market on weekend in Keswick and some lovely pubs for evening drink. The room was one the best i’ve stayed in. It a home away from home. We shall be returning next year and will not stay elsewhere now we have found this little gem of place. John went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful the room came with robs also nice luxury touch and the bathroom is exceptional. Thank you John we had great weekend shall see you next year

This is the best B&B we've stayed in yet! The views are gorgeous and the hosts are perfect. The room was spotless and had everything we needed, with a huge bed, walk in shower and a bath with lights! The breakfasts were gorgeous and a great choice on offer. We will definitely be returning

We've stopped on 4 & 5 star hotels all over the Country & abroad. However, saying that. This place is the best place we have stayed. John & Eddy were very welcoming & great hosts. The room was excellent 👌 The room & dining area & lounge were PRISTINE. Cleaned to the highest of standard. Breakfast was fantastic. Good sourced local produce. We've rebooted again today. You can't go wrong booking this place! 5* for everything. Capt Dave.
