About Premier Inn Keswick

Mountain and river views from the windows set Premier Inn Keswick apart from a typical chain hotel, with 71 rooms spread across three floors on High Hill in the heart of the Lake District. Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, free WiFi and drinks-making facilities, and family and accessible rooms are available for those who need them.

Breakfast is a genuine highlight here, with a well-cooked spread served alongside kids' meals and a bar and restaurant on site for evening meals and drinks. Staff are consistently helpful, and the rooms are kept comfortable and clean, with quiet air conditioning making for an easy night's sleep.

Onsite parking is chargeable and limited to a first-come, first-served basis, though the Derwent Pencil Museum car park offers an alternative a few minutes' walk away. From the hotel it's an easy walk into Keswick itself, out to Derwentwater, or up towards Castlerigg Stone Circle, with cycling and walking routes and fishing spots all close by for those keen to get out into the fells.

The room was clean, and the air conditioning was very good (during a heat wave). Had a great night's sleep. The staff were all excellent. There was an error with the bookin system that meant our request for a cot was not received, but there was no problem at all and it was sorted while we went out for our evening meal. All staff were happy to answer questions when asked, and were very accomodating. The location of the hotel is good, about a 10-minute walk from the main shops and right next to the Pencil Museum. It's easy to get to from the A66 as well. Date of stay: 09/07/2026 (1 night), Family room.

When we arrived we were so stressed and tired after an awful journey!! It all changes when Graham welcomed us , what a lovely welcome. Rooms are clean and comfortable and it's a 5 minute walk to the town , brilliant location. Great stay .

A lovely stay at Premier Inn Keswick. The rooms were clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful when we needed some extra help with a few things. Lovely breakfast too: The cooked breakfast was cooked really well (nothing over done or under done) Great service from Andrea & Sarah at breakfast too. They were very helpful and positive throughout a busy morning for them.

Pretty awful overall. Several issues encountered from arrival: No parking available, as the car park is pitifully small and was already full. We knew there was a chance of this, so, even though it was annoying we went to the public one down on the other side of the road, as recommended on the website. What nobody tells you is that it’s a good walk back and a pretty rough path for wheeling cases, not even a dropped kerb as you come out, and then you have to cross a really busy road! There are NO staff at this hotel reception (3&4pm on a weekday and there was never anybody to be seen),it’s just a self check-in at a machine which was painfully slow and unresponsive. Took 10 mins to get a keycard for just 1 room. The QR code on the email won’t scan, so don’t even try and waste your time with that. Oh and you’ll have to work out the luggage lift for yourself, as there’s nobody around to help and the front entrance is up fairly steep stairs (it’s on the left, same lift as wheelchair users have to use). We went to get continental breakfast next morning only to be told it was “fully booked”, even though we could see plenty of empty seats. Ended up in the Booths cafe which was £2 cheaper and actually an awful lot nicer, so Premier lost out there too. Wouldn’t recommend and certainly won’t be returning!
