Ayres Cottage

Ayres Cottage comes ready for a self-catering break. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer, so you can cook what you want or keep things simple. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are all included, along with the first load of wood for the burner. There's parking for one car on site, and the enclosed garden has a patio with furniture and a gas barbecue.

Three bedrooms sleep six: two doubles and one with bunk beds. The bathroom has a bath with shower over and a heated towel rail. The living and dining room centres on a wood burner, good for colder evenings. The village pub is a four-minute walk away if you fancy eating out. One dog stays free.

Burnham Thorpe sits between the coast and the Norfolk countryside. Holkham beach is three miles away, Wells-next-the-Sea six miles, and the RSPB reserves are nearby for birdwatching. The village itself has a handful of shops and galleries. Smoking is not permitted.
