What visitors say
We had a wonderful stay at this motorhome stopover. The location is excellent, offering a peaceful atmosphere while still being within easy walking distance of the town centre, shops, restaurants, and local amenities. One of the highlights was the fantastic view of the harbour, where there was always something interesting to watch, from fishing boats and ferries to the daily activity on the waterfront. The views out across the sea lanes added to the experience, making it a lovely spot to sit back and relax. Despite being close to everything, the site remains quiet and tranquil, with the coastal winds and wildlife providing the soundtrack for most of the day. This is a larger site so has more visitors. The stopover has all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay, including electric hook-up, showers, and well-maintained amenities. A great location, beautiful views. We would happily return. Did not see the hosts at this site so cannot comment on their service.

We stayed here for two nights, went to WESTRAY, then returned for a third night. One word: excellent. Clean, organised (including an excellent check-in system), good price / value, well laid out, flat and superb views. Handy for cycling into town and good for exploring mainland Orkney. Get the ‘Marine Traffic’ app and identify most of the boats / ferrys / cruise ships coming in and out of the harbour as you enjoy the views.

Mainly for Camper vans due to the exposed situation on the coast. The wind can be strong. Thought it expensive compared with other sites. £33 per night with no electric. Although the toilets and showers are excellent. No where for dog walking if you need to.

It’s a touring park so there are no rooms. It is situated a stones throw from the sea and relatively flat. The toilet block is one of the cleanest restrooms I’ve ever seen. Lovely hot spacious showers and a good washing machine and drier. Each pitch has fresh water and hook up. There is chemical toilet waste at the restrooms and grey water disposal on the entrance. We’re here for three weeks but have noticed most people stay only a night or two.
