About Herons Wood Certificated Location

Herons Wood Certificated Location is a tiny RV park on Bleasdale Lane near Preston, holding just five pitches. Being a certificated location—a Caravan Club scheme for small, informal sites—it operates on a modest scale with a quiet, low-capacity setup that suits those seeking a more intimate stopping point rather than a busy touring park.

The site provides showers. With only five pitches available, it fills quickly and offers the kind of limited-infrastructure experience typical of certificated locations, where the trade-off for fewer crowds and a simpler feel is fewer on-site amenities. It is well-positioned for access to Preston and the surrounding Lancashire countryside.

CL Broadgate Farm Broadgate Farm is off the beaten track which is exactly what we are looking for in a CL. Upon arrival we were immediately overwhelmed by the beauty of the location and the layout of the site itself. The site was empty so we were free to choose our pitch. No we weren't greeted on arrival but that suits us just fine! Everything was clear and obvious. The reception room held plenty of local information including maps of walks in the area. We did the Calder Valley walk from the site, about 12 miles in total. The CDP was more than adequate. Recycling facilities were good. Water was virtually adjacent to each pitch. Yes we could hear farm machinery but it was patently obvious that this a working farm with extremely hard working farmers! At £15 a night I can't understand why this site isn't full.... But that was to our gain.... Such peace in stunning surroundings.... We'll be back.

Basic 5 caravan site but with hard standing, water and ehu on pitch. Quiet with good views. No showers or toilets on site, so use your own.
