Tik Tok highly rated the afternoon tea experience. Our group of 10 went there to celebrate a special Birthday. We didn’t get any fan fare through the presentation of the food. We saw bird cages, smokes and mirrors on Tik Tok and was underwhelmed by the lack of presentation for our group. The tea selection was the highlight of the day. Each of us got our own pretty pot of tea. The Traditional sandwiches and the Asian inspired food that came after were devastatingly bad. Worst experience of our entire trip. Waiter was gone most of the time and it takes him 30 mins to bring out hot water. The pictures below is exactly how they served our food. they spent 0 efforts in displaying it.

I went here with my partner for afternoon tea on Christmas day (1 traditional, 1 Kopi Tiam - both vegetarian). Friendly staff and great presentation of food. But all of the items lacked flavour. From the savoury sandwiches to the bao buns - it all left a lot to be desired. There were also large time gaps between servings and we had to get attention of the staff multiple times to be served. At £85 per person (excluding service charge) and on Christmas day, the experience should've been better. I wish the kitchen staff all the best and I recommend they sample the tea and meal selection of some competitors in London, then revisit their menu.

We had a reservation but we showed up early. They told us to wait for 20 minutes and they will accommodate us. The table was lovely. They had wonderful selection of teas, and bubbly. We ordered the famous sweets. It was delightful. They treated the kids with cotton candy as well. The experience was great. Highly recommend it.

I highly recommend the afternoon tea. It was a totally different experience to traditional afternoon tea. You could see the amount of love that Cherish put into each dish and when she came round to explain the story behind the dishes this made the experience even more special. The servers and extremely friendly and attentive which added to the overall, enjoyable afternoon. With traditional afternoon teas I find that I am full before being able to experience the full menu but with Afternoon Tea at The Orchid Lounge it was just right. The only reason I have not given 5* review is because of the seating. The sofas were comfy but too wide to be able to lean back against. The chairs were slightly hard. BUT it was the position of the table which made it the most uncomfortable. The table was knee height so there was a lot of bending forward and down which lead to an uncomfortable experience and the start of aching backs. I would love to take my mom but she would not be able to cope with the seating arrangement. Overall I would definitely say go and experience the food! It is a must! Just be wary of your back.
