Ginger Lily Bar & Lounge

Really wanted to like the Afternoon Tea here, but … it was just, “meh”. The teas had an Asian bent, which was fine and they were tasty. The initial course of finger sandwiches was pedestrian: coronation chicken (good), prawn cocktail (also good), and then 2 sandwiches that were just average (cucumber & cream cheese and an egg salad). The scones were dense, and served with clotted cream, strawberry jam, and lemon curd. But, they were average (only so much to do with a scone?). Finally, there were 4 desserts, none of which really wowed us on taste, and which looked better than they were. They were fresh, but the flavors just didn’t do it for us. And no chocolate to be found. Better choices abound in this City. Fortnum & Mason, the Dorchester, and the Ritz are far better picks. Service was excellent, but could not make up for the shortcomings.

Fantastic afternoon tea had here. Relatively great value especially in London. Food variety is great and they will support and adjust for any dietary requirements. The truffle egg toasted sandwich was weirdly my favourite. Elpee was so friendly and welcoming, and she was the cherry on top of what was a refined, delicious and fun afternoon. Recommended!

A very welcoming atmosphere. Martina was engaging and knowledgeable about the fare. The quality of the 'snacks' sandwiches, scones and cakes was excellent and, absolutely enough. Endless teas of various tastes was on offer and, here is where Martina really excelled.

Went for a couple of cocktails to round off a post work pub drink during the dead time between Xmas and new year. The Pan Pacific hotel staff welcomed us and guided us to the Ginger Lily bar, where the bar staff took good care of us with complimentary bar snacks, made us some great cocktails and put up with our slightly drunken light-hearted chat.
