About Merchant Quarters Apartments

Merchant Quarters Apartments is a purpose-built block of self-catering apartments on William Jessop Way, in Liverpool city centre. With just 18 rooms, it has the feel of a small, manageable base rather than a sprawling hotel, and a lift makes moving between floors easy for guests with luggage or mobility needs.

Rooms come with their own kitchen and en-suite bathroom, so guests can cook their own meals or make use of the drinks provided in-room, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Many apartments look out over the river or the surrounding city, and the building operates a 24 hour reception for flexible arrivals and departures. Free WiFi runs throughout.

There's no restaurant on site, but pubs, bars and eateries are all nearby, along with entertainment options for evenings out. Parking isn't included at the apartments themselves, though the adjacent Princes Dock Car Park offers chargeable parking, and airport transfers can be arranged. It suits those wanting an independent, self-catering stay in the heart of Liverpool.

My family and I booked this accomodation last minute as our original accomodation fell through. We stayed in Flat 29 and the apartment was serviceable for our needs and we only really spent time in it in the evenings. However, for a place that claims 4⭐ and only 25+ can stay here it was very sub par. The interior of the building, such as the lifts and shared space, are quite run down. The accomodation is clearly used a lot and unfortunately you can tell. The lock upon entry looks like there has been an attempted break in. There are ghosts of the guest before you in the marks on the walls, floors and doors. The sofas are very worn and stained, verging on tatty and the whole interior generally needs updated. The shower in the main bathroom leaks through the ceiling every time you turn it on and somehow manages to spray water all over the floor when the shower doors are closed. The apartments list eminities like free wifi and a hairdryer however the wifi didn't work and there was no hairdryer provided. It is a shame because the apartments are in a great area near the dock and within walking distance of the town centre and a lot of great pubs and restaurants; really great for a family stay. But it needs a lot of TLC; especially when sitting on top of a very nice Malmaison.

Great location central to all tourist attractions. Ideal for families. It's a very good alternative to a hotel room. These apartments were spacious. We stayed in the 2 bed apartments double bed in one room 2 twin beds in the second room. Work great for us.

Accommodation in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Meechant’s Quarters L3 booked via Agoda. Avoid this place. Check-in: the definition of self check-in is where the unit wasn’t locked and the key was placed on the table. Problem with check-in: when I opened my door, there were 6-7 boys smoking in the living room at 11:30pm on 3 May 2025 and one of them probably lied down on the bed with the jacket and a bottle left on it. What happens next: The boys quickly move out and said, we got the wrong room number. Room condition: those pictures listed on Agoda or Booking.com or Trip.com are not accurate at all. The floor was sticky and dusty. Internet/wifi: it’s not working at all. This place is probably known by the locals for not having the units locked pre check-in, at 2:30am, they were two girls knocking my door hard trying to look for the boys I guess cause she was calling for “Charlie”. Watch the video to understand. 3:30am: another person tried to open the door which was locked by me, probably trying their luck to have a free place to stay. It was a sleepless night for me, please avoid and don’t book this place.
