About Premier Inn Liverpool Albert Dock

Walk into a room at Premier Inn Liverpool Albert Dock and you'll find a generous amount of space, a comfortable bed, and an en-suite bathroom, with some rooms retaining original architectural details from the building's past life. Not every room is in top condition, so it's worth knowing that finish and upkeep can vary, but the character of the historic structure comes through throughout the hotel.

The hotel occupies the East Britannia Building, with 186 rooms spread across five floors served by a lift, plus accessible rooms for those who need them. A restaurant on site serves breakfast, which is well regarded for the price, and drinks are available in-room. Staff are on hand around the clock at 24-hour reception, and the team has a reputation for being friendly and helpful. Parking is available nearby for a charge rather than on site.

The setting is the main draw: Royal Albert Dock is right on the doorstep, with Tate Liverpool and The Beatles Story both close by, along with pubs, bars and other entertainment. Fishing opportunities can also be found nearby for anyone wanting a quieter way to spend an afternoon by the water.

Superb location. I booked a room with a view which was the largest P I room we've stayed in. The view was amazing: you could see the whole dock and the Liver building. The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is because the windows weren't very clean and so it was impossible to take a decent photo of the view. I asked Mel at reception about this in passing when we were leaving and she said it was due to the logistics of access to the building. It can also be very windy so obviously window cleaners can't be put at risk. I will definitely return in the not too distant future.

We faced the water and the view was amazing. Bathroom could do with updating. Shower was fixed to wall but powerful enough for it not to matter. Shower curtain!!! Hate them. Also not very safe for anyone with any age. High bath to climb in, no grab bars, a bit precarious. Air con made a noise we couldn't sleep through. Reception had an awful (i think air freshener) smell. Very central, good value but the room view did it for us. Would stay again, preferably in the same room.

Premier Inn Liverpool City Centre (Albert Dock) allocated me a room with extensive black mould across the bathroom ceiling, additional mould around the sink, broken air conditioning, filthy windows and unusable Wi-Fi. This room should never have passed housekeeping or maintenance checks, let alone been allocated to a paying guest. The most concerning issue was the black mould covering areas of the bathroom ceiling. This isn't simply a cosmetic issue; it is a recognised health hazard, particularly for anyone with allergies or respiratory conditions. The bathroom was also in a poor state of repair, with obvious water damage to the bath panel and mirror, making it clear that maintenance had been neglected for some time. The room itself was equally disappointing. The windows were coated in such a heavy build-up of dust and dirt that they were barely transparent. Because the air conditioning wasn't working, I had no choice but to open the window, which immediately triggered my dust allergy. The overall standard of cleanliness and housekeeping was far below what I expect from Premier Inn. The hotel Wi-Fi was also unacceptable. I recorded download speeds of just 0.95 Mbps, making it virtually unusable. Switching to my own mobile hotspot immediately achieved over 400 Mbps, clearly demonstrating that the issue was with the hotel's internet service. I deliberately waited before posting this review to give Premier Inn every opportunity to resolve my complaint privately. Before anyone replies with the standard "please contact Guest Relations" response, I already have. My complaint was submitted via the web form and WhatsApp (Reference: WHB-3167643-V4Z9). Over the following 14 days I chased the matter three separate times by telephone and also requested updates via WhatsApp. Despite all of that, I have received no response. I'm therefore leaving this review because Premier Inn has failed to address what I believe are serious maintenance, cleanliness and customer service failures. I hope this review prompts the hotel management team to investigate both why a room in this condition was considered fit for occupation and why Guest Relations failed to respond after repeated follow-ups. A room with black mould on the bathroom ceiling, broken air conditioning, filthy windows, unusable Wi-Fi and poor maintenance is simply not acceptable. This experience has seriously damaged my confidence in the Premier Inn brand, and based on my experience, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Brilliant family stay. Clean rooms, comfy beds, and great value for the location. Huge praise to Faye who was working in the restaurant, she went above and beyond to make sure our family had everything we needed. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring, she made our stay feel extra special. Highly recommend
