What diners say
This is a steak house that can easily provide tasty non-steak meals. We stopped by for lunch when turned down by the French cafe across the road and were delighted with the choice of vegetarian dishes and the professionalism of the staff. The restaurant itself is really well designed and tastefully decorated. Highly recommended.

I visited this place on June 26th, my birthday, with a group of friends, and we had a wonderful time. I had one of the best burgers I've had in a long time, paired with a delicious glass of Merlot. The food and drinks were excellent, the prices were very reasonable, and the overall atmosphere was lovely. The only small downside was that it was an exceptionally hot day in London, and the air conditioning wasn't quite strong enough to keep the place cool. Apart from that, everything was great. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good food, good value, and a pleasant atmosphere. I'll certainly be coming back!

I visited Black & Blue on 14 December 2025 for a late lunch at approximately 3:00 PM while on holiday. I would like to begin by acknowledging the lady who initially escorted us to our table. She was warm, friendly, enthusiastic, and an absolute sweetheart. Her welcoming demeanor gave us a very positive first impression. Unfortunately, the rest of our dining experience was deeply disappointing due to both service and food quality. When we requested additional water and ketchup, another waitress attended to us and appeared visibly reluctant. She did not speak a single word despite our polite request, maintained a stoic expression, and returned by forcefully placing the water jug on the table rather than setting it down courteously. She also brought only one small container of ketchup, which was clearly insufficient for three people with a substantial portion of chips remaining. When we calmly stated, “This isn’t enough,” she walked away without acknowledgment and later returned with six ketchup containers in what felt like a deliberately excessive and sarcastic response. The interaction made us feel disrespected and uncomfortable. What made this more unsettling was observing the same waitress being cheerful, smiling, and exceptionally friendly while serving other tables. As the only Asian guests in the restaurant at the time, we could not help but feel disregarded and question whether this treatment may have been influenced by bias. While we cannot state this definitively, the contrast in behavior was difficult to ignore and left us feeling deeply uneasy. Additionally, the food itself was unacceptable. We ordered our steak medium-well, but it arrived well done and heavily charred, with an overpowering burnt taste that was genuinely nauseating. The steak was unpleasant to eat and far below the standard one would expect, particularly from a restaurant known for steak. While the main courses were heavily disappointing, I would like to note that the desserts were exceptional. They were well-prepared, flavorful, and thoroughly enjoyable, standing in stark contrast to the mains. Had the quality of the food and service been consistent with the desserts, our overall experience would have been far more positive. It is truly unfortunate that what should have been an enjoyable holiday meal was marred by such poor service and food quality. While we greatly appreciated the kindness of the hostess who first welcomed us, the behavior of one server and the substandard meal ultimately made our experience extremely dissatisfactory, especially considering the great reviews. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as no guest should ever feel dismissed, disrespected, or uncomfortable while dining.

We had dinner at Borough Market last night. In my opinion, it's one of the best restaurants I've seen in London. There were six of us, and we ordered steak, a cheese plate, soup, dessert, and fish with house wine. Everything was fantastic. The staff were also incredibly attentive, polite, and helpful. The atmosphere was wonderful in every way. (Don't let the owners hear this, but the prices are quite reasonable considering the setting, presentation, and service!) Many thanks to the staff, especially the Serbian-born employee who took care of us...

Some reviews mention the steak can be overcooked.
