What diners say
Great coffee and friendly service. It gets very busy, but the queue moves surprisingly fast. Best for takeaway, as seating is limited and it’s usually packed with tourists. One thing to note: all Monmouth shops use a £5 reusable takeaway cup deposit. Return the used cup and you’ll get your £5 back, no need to rejoin the order queue; just hand it to a staff member near the coffee bean counter. No paper cups here.

Stopped by Monmouth Coffee while exploring Borough Market and totally understand why so many people recommend it. The coffee was really good, and the whole place had that classic cozy London cafe feel. It was quite busy, but the atmosphere still felt warm and nice. A perfect little coffee break in the middle of the market :)

A proper coffee stop in London. Monmouth at Borough Market is one of those places that reminds you how good simple things can be. Watching the filter coffee being brewed right in front of you adds something special slow, intentional, full of aroma, and clearly made with care. I also loved their reusable cup idea, paying around £5 for a proper reusable cup that you can use and return is such a thoughtful touch, especially in a city trying to reduce waste. The coffee itself was excellent: clean, balanced, and memorable. Yes, there’s usually a queue, but now I completely understand why. One small tip for visitors, don’t make the same mistake we did and forget they’re closed on Sundays! Absolutely worth a visit if you’re around Borough Market.

Great coffee. The beans are top quality and drinks are perfectly made: rich, flavourful and well worth it. They don’t offer takeaway which is a shame if you’re in a rush. Service is often quite slow and the place gets very crowded, making it tricky to find a seat or even stand comfortably inside. Still, if you have time and don’t mind waiting, the coffee itself makes it worth a visit. A proper London coffee institution.
