About Alhambra Hotel

A cooked breakfast and a bar to unwind in set the tone at the Alhambra Hotel, on Argyle Street in London. The on-site restaurant and drinks-in-room option mean guests don't have to venture out for every meal, though there's plenty nearby too, with pubs, bars and eateries all within easy reach.

The hotel has 52 rooms, kept clean and well looked after, with air conditioning and free WiFi throughout. Beyond the bedrooms, facilities run to a gym, spa and sauna, an indoor swimming pool, a garden, and meeting rooms for those combining business with a stay. Porter and concierge services are on hand, laundry can be arranged, and free on-site parking is available for anyone driving in.

The location near London's train stations is a real draw, making onward travel straightforward, and the staff are generally friendly and accommodating. That said, service has occasionally been reported as inconsistent, and rooms can feel a little close together, so it suits guests after good value and convenience over five-star polish. Chessington World of Adventures is a notable spot for those wanting a day trip further afield.

This small hotel is in a great location within a few minutes walk of Kings Cross / St Pancras stations. The rooms are very small, no air-conditioning but a small fan was supplied which was fine as it wasnt overly hot. There are no lifts ... stairs only so be mindful of taking large luggage although the staff are more than willing to help. Bathroom is also very small with the toilet, basin and shower all in the one room shower would only be about 80 x 80 at a guess so its tight! Double Room gave a little more room. Bed was a little hard for my preference, but it was clean and functional for a 1 night stay. A bit noisy from street and hotel happenings, glad I had earplugs.

I had a most excellent stay at the Alhambra hotel. The reason I booked here was due to the close proximity of King's Cross Station, but would definitely return as it turned out to be a very cool and walkable area for food, drink, sightseeing, and people watching. Bruno, Syed, Sonia and all of the front desk employees were accommodating and kind and allowed me to keep my heavy bags secured while I waited for my train departure later in the day. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

My wife and I just stayed here this weekend. There was an issue with booking the hotel through Capital One/Expedia and our reservation got canceled without our knowledge, but Bruno, one of the concierges, absolutely came through and helped us out. He got us one of their apartments, which was only £30 more, and let us clean up a bit after a rough flight. Also an excellent location: it’s a five-minute walk from King’s Cross and St. Pancras terminals, so if you’re coming from Europe or the North and won’t be in London long, this is a great little option for you. We absolutely plan on coming back and thank Bruno and the whole staff for our amazing experience!
