About Aloft London Excel by Marriott

ExCeL London is within easy reach, making Aloft London Excel by Marriott a practical base for exhibitions, conferences and events, while the Royal Docks and nearby DLR station put the rest of the capital and London City Airport within simple reach. Entertainment, pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area give guests plenty of options beyond the hotel itself.

The hotel has 252 rooms, all with air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms, along with family and accessible rooms for those who need them. Guests get room service, drinks in the room, and laundry service, plus the sort of amenities that make longer stays comfortable, including a gym, spa and sauna, and an indoor swimming pool that comes up often as a highlight.

There's a restaurant and bar on site along with a snack bar and breakfast service, with kids' meals available for families. Business travellers are catered for with meeting rooms and business services, and concierge staff and luggage storage help smooth out arrivals and departures. On-site parking is available for a charge, and pets are welcome. Staff are generally helpful, though service standards have been reported as inconsistent at times.

Arrived at hotel at 8.30pm. There were 2 empty water jars next to the reception desk. A coach arrived at the same time with many many people getting off with lots of luggage. Shame there was no water or refreshments available for guests waiting to check in. We had driven 2.5 hours. Not a great first impression. Plus big queue with one person serving to check in. Room clean and comfortable. Only one can of water left on side despite 2 of us staying in the room. Shower gel really really watered down. And none in it after a few pumps. Spa and swim area messy. It was gone 9 with the area open to 11pm. Used towels on floor, spilling out of laundry basket. No gowns or slippers in room. Guests were calling reception on emergency phones requesting towels for the pool area as there was none. Breakfast nice service. Coffee machine not working. Food adequate. Went swimming again at 10am. This time shared the pool with water babies swimming class. Singing and splashing. No signs saying this was in progress. Hardly relaxing spa like experience in the sauna or pool. Very noisy. I love a hotel and always enjoy the experience as it's a nice treat. I've never given a bad review but for what I paid it was really disappointing. Modern looking and comfortable bed but that's it. Could not speak to anyone checking out as again big queue mainly with swimming parents buying snacks for their children. Such a shame the lack of staff and care spoilt this trip.

Incredible hotel. Stayed there this weekend as a band as we had a gig in London. The staff were courteous and attentive from the moment we walked in. The hotel itself is clean and beautifully designed. The amenities are exceptional and the refuel station is reasonably priced. The only downside is there isn't a lot to do within walking distance, but the DLR tube stop is connected to the second level making it easy to get into popular locations like Canary wharf. 10/10 experience, could not fault it

An Excellent Stay with Outstanding Staff!I recently stayed at Aloft London Excel and had a fantastic experience. The hotel has a very modern, vibrant vibe with bright, spacious, and spotlessly clean rooms. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the walk-in shower was great. I also loved the excellent indoor pool, sauna, and well-equipped gym—perfect for relaxing after a long day. The location is unbeatable, just a minute away from the Prince Regent DLR station and very close to the Elizabeth Line, making travel into central London super easy. What truly made my stay exceptional, however, was the outstanding customer service. The entire team was incredibly welcoming, but I want to give a special mention to Liliana and Aruna at the Front Office. They were absolutely amazing! Both of them are highly competent, professional, and went above and beyond with their kindness and helpfulness.Thank you, Aloft London Excel, and a huge thank you to Liliana and Aruna for making me feel so welcome. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!

I stayed at the Aloft for Comicon with my daughter in a fully accessible room. Room was lovely size and perfect location for the con. The staff went above and beyond! So friendly and helpful, they allowed us to get an early check in which made a huge difference to us, put us in a quieter floor/room (833) as it was con weekend. Really made us feel welcome and looked after us. They also were happy to let us store our luggage after we had checked out. All this made our weekend so much easier and was much appreciated! The bar staff in the connecting bar/restaurant were also lovely. We Will definitely be back and highly recommend this hotel for anyone in a wheelchair and needs easy access to the Excel. If you book early enough the prices are really competitive, especially considering its location.. A BIG thanks especially to Harry and Anushka for going above and beyond and making our stay so enjoyable.
