About Blue Bells

A free continental breakfast and an on-site bar are the daily fixtures at Blue Bells, a family-run budget hotel at 14 Pembridge Square in London. With 25 rooms, air conditioning, a lift and free WiFi throughout, it keeps things simple rather than showy, and the small garden gives guests somewhere to sit outside of the rooms themselves.

Rooms are plainly decorated, in keeping with the hotel's budget positioning, but they come with drinks available in-room and the comfort of air conditioning. Luggage storage is on hand for early arrivals or late departures, and there's no parking at the property, so it suits those arriving on foot or by public transport.

London Paddington station is under a mile away, making onward travel straightforward, and there are pubs, restaurants and other eateries nearby for evenings out beyond the hotel bar. Windsor Great Park is also within reach for a day trip from the city.

No a/c and no window screens. There was a fan. It was too hot but a cool shower and the fan helped. Wonderful complimentary breakfast. Stores luggage if you arrive early and after check out.

The hotel is in a great location, but it has a bed bug problem. On the second night of my stay, I was bitten from head to toe. The hotel only offered to move me to another room. They did not provide any antihistamines or offer any compensation. The next day, they checked new guests into the same room without addressing the issue. If you don’t want your trip to be ruined, I would strongly recommend not staying at this hotel.

It was reasonably close to the train station, which was handy. There is no lift. Our room overlooked the street, so we could hear street noise every now and again

A. It dean and in need of some decoration and improvements to surfaces and stairwells etc, but otherwise typical of an old private dwelling converted to hotel… Breakfast was fantastic and perfect for me using good brands for cereals and juice. Coffee great and always on tap. Location amazing for me with easy access to everything I wanted. Great coffee stops all over the place nearby. Bedroom was tiny but it was fine for me and the shower was clean and with good pressure and temperature controls
