About Central Park Hotel

Central Park Hotel occupies a substantial building on Queensborough Terrace, one of the large townhouse terraces typical of this part of London, with 299 rooms across the property. It's a sizeable operation for the area, with the scale to offer a restaurant, bar, lift access and meeting rooms alongside the usual guest facilities.

Rooms are generally modern and comfortable, with drinks available in-room and porter and concierge services on hand for anything guests need during their stay. Breakfast is served on-site and tends to be varied, and free WiFi is available throughout. It's worth noting that some rooms have been described as not quite matching their online presentation, so it may be sensible to check exactly what's included when booking, and while staff are usually attentive, service standards have occasionally been reported as inconsistent.

The hotel offers free on-site parking, a useful feature for a central London property. Windsor Great Park is mentioned as a point of interest for those wanting to venture further out, while London Paddington is under a mile away, making the hotel a workable base for rail connections. Nearby streets also offer a choice of pubs, restaurants and other eateries within easy walking distance.

The bad stuff: the rooms are small and tight with no where to put your suitcases (somewhat understandable) but the bathrooms are next level. To make it worse, the new "upgraded" bathrooms have a tiny shower with NO DOOR or curtain of any kind so the water goes everywhere in the bathroom! There is no where to put anything in there with you. Just impossible. Terrible design. Also, we very deliberately chose them to have three twin beds, booked that room and emailed ahead of time to be certain we would get that arrangement. When we got there, that was not available so they put us in a two bed room. My daughter had to sleep on the floor that night. We had 2 more nights to go, and thankfully they were able to move us for the last two nights. It is a large hotel and due to renovation there was only one small elevator working. It was a problem. The good stuff: The staff was helpful and apologetic.

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I booked a room with specific features, but upon arrival, I discovered that the room was completely different from the one I had selected. It was located in the basement, and this was not clearly disclosed or mentioned when I made the booking. The room also had an unpleasant smell, and the air conditioning was extremely poor. I contacted the reception and requested a room upgrade, but the receptionist who dealt with me refused my request and told me to wait for three days. He was extremely unhelpful and showed no interest in resolving the issue. His attitude and way of dealing with me were very disappointing. I also contacted the booking platform I used, and they informed me that the hotel was not responding to their emails. I also sent an email to the hotel myself, but I have not received any response. To be completely honest, the room I stayed in was not suitable for human accommodation, and the overall experience was extremely disappointing. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. The room descriptions and the location of the rooms within the hotel should be clearly and transparently stated before booking, and the hotel seriously needs to improve the way it handles guests’ complaints and concerns.

We stayed here for 4 nights whilst we did BST and other things. To start with the hotel made it very clear when booked there was renovations being done, during our stay these happened during the advised times, start 9.00am finish 5.00pm, so do not interfere with your stay. The hotel was clean, smelt lovely in reception and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. The room exactly as described, plenty of space, with a comfortable bed and almost no outside noise. The bathroom is a fraction small for the larger person, but is well appointed and has all amenities you could expect, the shower is a "wet room" shower with screen so some water comes out but that is the design and it does not hamper using it. The slippers and gowns are a nice touch. The negatives and here I am being picky, sorry, no drawers to put clothes away in, only 2 hangers (2 more if you take gowns off), and my wife likes instant coffee, but I love pods, so real minor things nothing to distract from the stay.

The people at the reception were nice, and that's just about the only good thing I can say about this hotel. For the first night, they put us in a windowless room with no AC, only two sad little fans. After a night of marinating in our own sweat in a room that was, for lack of a better word, falling apart, they gave us a room with AC for the rest of the stay, so I can't say anything bad about the receptionists. The location is nice, with a street nearby full of restaurant options, and a park on the other side of the road. That's about where the good things end. The bed was wildly uncomfortable, we found a clump of hair that definitely didn't belong to either of us under one of the pillows (which happened after they "cleaned" the room). On our last day, we decided to give the hotel breakfast a try, £15 per person. We pay it, step inside, and immediately I'm hit with some rainforest levels of heat. So, if you're like me, and can't handle eating in the Amazon, maybe skip the breakfast. I managed to get in about three bites of a blueberry muffin before I had to leave, because i couldn't physically stay any longer. My roommate, who can handle heat a bit better said the food itself was nice. I sure wish I could've tried it myself, but it was hot and stuffy to the point where I was feeling nauseous.
