About Troy Hotel

Thirty-three rooms make up the Troy Hotel, a compact townhouse hotel on Queensborough Terrace in Bayswater, a short walk from Hyde Park. It's a straightforward base for exploring central London, with tube stations nearby and plenty of pubs, restaurants and other eateries on the surrounding streets.

Rooms are en-suite and come with good storage space, useful for longer stays or guests travelling with more luggage than usual. A lift serves the building, and practical extras include free WiFi, laundry service, luggage storage and business facilities, along with drinks available in the room. Breakfast is included each morning, though it leans towards simple rather than extensive, and some find it could offer more variety.

The hotel also functions as a wedding venue for those wanting to host an occasion in the area. Overall, the Troy Hotel suits travellers after a clean, no-fuss place to sleep in a well-connected part of London, rather than a destination in itself.

Positive points: The only positive aspect of this hotel was the reception staff. The lady at reception ( who checked us in) and the gentleman (who checked us out) were genuinely kind, welcoming and always smiling. The location is also good, right next to the metro. Negative points: Everything else was a huge disappointment. I have travelled a lot and this is honestly the first time in my life I have seen a hotel with so many rude employees. The housekeeping team and the breakfast staff completely ignore guests. They never reply to a simple "good morning" or "good evening", and don't even acknowledge you when you meet them anywhere. A smile costs nothing. A special mention goes to the older breakfast lady, Sandra. After reading other reviews on booking mentioning her attitude, I thought they were exaggerating. They weren't!!!. She is unfriendly, RUDE and clearly needs to urgently retire. The "breakfast buffet", if it can even be called a buffet, is by far the poorest I have ever seen in any hotel: bread, butter, jam, cold milk, tasteless coffee, cheap supermarket juice and boiled eggs. That's it. Calling this a buffet is misleading. Finally, the air conditioning was a complete disaster. It made a constant loud noise, making it impossible to use. When we reported it, the answer was simply: "Yes, we know. Maybe the company will fix it next week.", they knew but we were not informed!!!! An unbelievable response for a paying guest. To make matters even worse, the unit continued making an irritating noise even when switched off, leaving us with a completely sleepless night. I would not stay here again and certainly would not recommend it

This is a really great hotel! My room was spacious and immaculately clean. The bed was one of the comfiest I’ve ever stayed in at a hotel, like sleeping on a cloud. There was a bath, shower, tv and coffee making facilities in the room. I arrived late in the evening so was pleased with the speed of check-in. The receptionist was friendly and explained everything well. The price was great too, I will stay here again in the future. :)

Absolutely amazing hotel! Great, comfortable room with lots of space and storage. Shower and bath! Friendly staff. Incredible location, just so convenient for everywhere. I would definitely stay here again - it would be my first choice in London.

I am satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The room was a good size and clean. There was no fridge, but it wasn’t a problem since I visited in winter. There was a TV and an air conditioner in the room. The only downside was the narrow shower cabin, it was quite small. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. The staff were kind. The underground station is a 2–3 minute walk away, and there is also a bus stop nearby. Overall, I didn’t experience any problems and left happy.
