About Chelsea Cloisters
A morning coffee or evening drink is easy to come by at Chelsea Cloisters, where an on-site restaurant and bar sit alongside a breakfast service, giving guests the option to eat in rather than venture out after a day of sightseeing. The hotel occupies a large building on Sloane Avenue in Chelsea, with 250 rooms making it one of the bigger options in this part of London.
Rooms come with air conditioning and free WiFi, and the hotel adds useful extras such as a lift, luggage storage, concierge services and childcare, along with meeting rooms and a garden for those wanting outdoor space. It's worth knowing that some rooms can show their age and the lifts are not always reliable, so guests happy to overlook the odd rough edge tend to get the most out of a stay here.
The location is a strong point, with plenty of restaurants, pubs and entertainment nearby, and free on-site parking is a welcome bonus in a part of London where parking is otherwise hard to find. The staff are consistently noted as friendly and helpful, and the overall value for money makes Chelsea Cloisters a practical base for exploring the city.
What guests say
Despite feeling quite anxious before arriving because of some of the negative reviews, my experience was completely different. The staff were friendly, kind, and always happy to help. The room was exactly what I needed—clean, comfortable, and perfect for my trip. The location was excellent, with easy access to public transport and many of London’s attractions. Overall, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, well-located place to stay.

Special thank you to John on reception for going above and beyond! My studio was great, it had everything you need and was completely new, good cleaning staff and well maintained building. I stayed on the 7th floor. Fantastic location. Price / quality ratio excellent. The building has a bad rep, but I was pleasantly surprised. I stayed for a month and cannot fault them!

One of the strangest accommodations we has during our trip to Europe. Sparkling foyer and manned big front desk...but this will be the only contact staff will have is at check in and out. Not even a nod from staff for the next 10 days. Only one lift operational during the 10 days and thank goodness we were not on one of the higher levels. Open house for anyone to visit the gym and a nightclub, behind a black door that you need to be invited to attend!! Strangers turning up and walking straight past the desk to the nightclub. No security as they can keep walking to customer rooms! Rooms were clean and the housekeeping was thorough. Shower hoses leaking when in use. Walking distance to supermarkets, M&S, Sainsbury, Tesco and very good kitchenette fit out. Including a washing machine/dryer...excellent! Would stay again but check a few details including operational lifts what floor you are on.

The hotel's location is really great. You can walk everywhere from the South Kensington station. There are nice shops nearby. The hotel is a bit old, but that's very common in London. The only downside is that it's very noisy from the neighboring rooms. There are cameras in every hallway. It's a safe and respectable neighborhood.
