About One Aldwych

One Aldwych occupies a solid Edwardian building whose grand proportions have been reworked into a 102-room hotel at the meeting point of Covent Garden and the West End. The scale of the original structure gives the interiors a sense of space rarely found in central London, with the classic architecture balanced by contemporary furnishings throughout.

Rooms are well-designed and come with thoughtful extras, including complimentary snacks and Dyson hairdryers, and all have en-suite bathrooms with air conditioning. Family rooms and accessible rooms are available, along with a bridal suite and VIP facilities for those marking a special occasion. Guests have access to an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym, making the spa a proper part of a stay rather than an afterthought. The restaurant and bar have a strong reputation, with a varied menu that includes gluten-free options and a well-regarded cocktail list, and breakfast, packed lunches and in-room drinks are all available.

Staff are consistently attentive and professional, with concierge and porter services on hand along with valet parking, laundry service and childcare on request. The location puts guests within reach of the West End's theatres and restaurants, with pubs, bars and eateries close by, and airport transfers can be arranged. Pets are welcome, and meeting rooms and wedding facilities make the hotel equally suited to business trips and celebrations.

Loved this hotel. It is really thoughtfully decorated and “supplied” - complimentary water and snacks in the room, Dyson hairdryers, a really complete turndown service, multi port plugs (no converters needed), electric drapes, good sized desk, etc. Location is wonderful for tourists as it is near a few subway stops and of course, West End theatres. Staff are all great and very responsive. Room service requests are delivered exceptionally quickly. Every person we met was polite, helpful and friendly. Food was great. We mainly ate breakfasts and late night snacks. Highly recommend!!

Couldn't recommend this hotel enough and would definitely stay again. First of all - the staff are truly great. From the moment we walked in, Adam at the entrance was very welcoming and Lumi and Ri at reception were accommodating, professional and so helpful with all the questions we had. The rooms are well designed and comfortable. Spacious for central London, quiet, clean and well equipped. The turn down service in the evening is a special touch and made us feel right at home. We also enjoyed the Spa facilities - pool and sauna/steam are excellent and the staff were great at ensuring we were comfortable. Thank you very much to the team at One Aldwych and we hope to see you again soon.

We stayed here to celebrate my friend's birthday. Upon entering, the lobby area had zero atmosphere - not on a par with other five star establishments. The room was nice (delightful toiletries and complimentary minibar) and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was great! What really let the hotel down was the pool area. It feels more like a leisure centre than a luxury five star hotel pool. There were only 4 loungers - ridiculous for a hotel of this size and the atmosphere felt quite 'cold' and not at all luxurious. Relaxing at the pool was one of the main aims of our trip, but it wasn't at all enjoyable. Massages were acceptable. Overall, I wouldn't return as there are much better five star establishments in London.

Once you have found a hotel where you truly feel at ease, where excellence is matched by unwavering consistency year after year, each stay ceases to be a simple visit and becomes a ritual you look forward to with genuine anticipation. This is exactly what we experience every time we stay at One Aldwych. For us, this place is far more than just a hote l; it is a precious interlude where attention to detail, the quality of the welcome, and the refined atmosphere create a rare sense of comfort and ease. The rooms are inspiring, the pool feels almost private, and the Royal Albert Hall is easily reached via the number 9 bus. We arrive with our memories and leave with new ones, always with the certainty of rediscovering that unique harmony we have not found anywhere else. Many thanks, and we look forward to returning soon, Christophe Blanck
