About Elmwood Hotel

Elmwood Hotel suits travellers who want a straightforward, affordable base in central London rather than a lot of extras. With 35 rooms set on Argyle Square, it works well for anyone passing through the capital by train, catching an early departure, or simply after a budget option within easy reach of King's Cross and St Pancras stations.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks, and free WiFi, and breakfast is available to set guests up for the day. Luggage storage is handy for those with train connections to make, and staff are generally on hand to help with local queries. It's worth knowing that rooms tend to be on the smaller side, and service can be inconsistent, so this is one for guests prioritising location and price over polish.

Outside the hotel, Argyle Square puts guests within walking distance of pubs, restaurants and other eateries, with entertainment options nearby too. It's a practical choice for exploring London on a budget, with the transport links doing much of the heavy lifting.

I don't understand why people have given negetive remarks and less star to this hotel. I have spent 3 nights in this hotel and in my opinion everything was perfect. Firstly location was great just near to King cross Station only 3 minutes walk and you can go anywhere in london with this station. Secondly all staff are so good and generous. Rooms are clean and smells good. One of the cheapest hotel as compared to other 2 star 🌟 hotels. I would highly recommend to visit and stay in this hotel if you are planning to visit london. 🙏🙏🙏

Good staff. The price, above £45 per day, seems to reflect the current trend of rising accommodation costs across London. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find reasonably priced places, and many properties appear to be raising their rates as much as possible. Overall, the accommodation met basic needs, but given the ongoing increase in London prices, value for money is becoming an important consideration for travellers and short-term professionals.

You get what you pay for applies here. Very cheap for a 1-night stay near St Pancras but single room very small and bed not very comfortable. Ensuite shower and separate toilet were just about big enough to stand up in. Staff efficient without being overly friendly.

I attended this hotel to complete a food delivery for one of the rooms. I informed reception that I had a delivery for a guest. Instead of offering to take the item or asking the guest to come down, I was given directions to access the room. I politely explained that, due to safety policies implemented by major delivery platforms, we are not permitted to deliver directly to hotel room doors. This is standard procedure and is in place to protect guests, staff and couriers. The receptionist responded rudely, repeatedly telling me I was “the first one to ever say that,” as though that somehow made it invalid. I calmly reiterated the policy. He then gestured dismissively and told me I “needed to move around more” and walk to the room, implying laziness rather than acknowledging platform safety rules. The tone was unprofessional and unnecessary. He then abruptly snatched the food from my hands and walked off. Beyond the disrespect shown, the bigger concern is that the hotel appeared willing to allow random third-party couriers unsupervised access to guest corridors. That raises serious questions about guest safety and internal procedure. A very unpleasant experience. Professionalism and basic courtesy cost nothing.

Other reviews mention the rooms can be small and the service can be unprofessional.
