About Belgrove Hotel Annexe

Parking on site is the detail that sets Belgrove Hotel Annexe apart from most central London budget stays, where a car space is usually hard to come by. The annexe sits on Argyle Square, a residential square within reach of the city's transport links, making it a practical option for anyone arriving by road or needing easy onward travel.

Rooms are simple and en-suite, each with free WiFi and drinks available in the room. This is a no-frills setup rather than a polished hotel experience, and the low number of guest ratings reflects a mixed track record, so expectations should be kept modest and realistic.

There's no restaurant on site, but the surrounding streets make up for it, with pubs, bars and eateries all within easy walking distance, along with other entertainment nearby. For travellers who want a straightforward base near central London without the fuss of a full-service hotel, it does the basic job.

This is the worst hotel ever. Don’t book it. We only stayed one night because it was so bad that we immediately moved to another hotel the next morning. The location is great, but that’s the only positive. Everything else is disgusting — the hotel itself, the surrounding streets, the nearby restaurants, and the staff. The room was much smaller than shown in the pictures. The photos are completely misleading and make it look far bigger than it actually is. The bed frame was noisy, the mattress was so soft you could feel the frame underneath, and sleeping was uncomfortable. The windows were covered in pigeon droppings, the curtains were dirty, and the room smelled like mould. We barely had any toilet paper, and what was there was already used. When we turned on the shower, it smelled horrible — like sweat. There was no body wash in the room. There is no reception at the hotel. We had to walk about 200 metres to another location just to get the keys. The staff claimed they had sent an email explaining this, but we never received anything. Communication was terrible. When we returned at night to ask for body wash, the staff member was extremely unfriendly and arrogant. He told us to “go to the shop” if we wanted body wash and handed us a cheap solid soap — not even proper hand wash. The noise was awful. We could hear pigeons all night, constantly, which made it impossible to rest. We checked out as soon as we woke up and booked another hotel immediately. We only came back to return the keys. Avoid this place. It’s dirty, misleading, badly managed, and not worth the stress — even with a good location.
