About Gunmakers
Marylebone is one of central London's more understated corners, a short walk from Baker Street and Oxford Street yet quieter than either, and it's here on Aybrook Street that Gunmakers makes its home. The building is a Victorian pub at heart, its exterior dressed with hanging baskets, and that classic character carries through into the wood-filled interior of the hotel above.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi, along with drinks available in the room for those who don't fancy heading back down to the bar. Downstairs, the pub itself doubles as the hotel's restaurant and bar, serving breakfast each morning and food and drink through the day, in keeping with its traditional London pub feel.
There's no parking at the property, so this suits guests arriving on foot, by tube or by taxi rather than by car. In return, the location puts plenty within easy reach, with restaurants, bars and other eateries dotted around the neighbourhood and entertainment nearby for evenings out. It's a straightforward, characterful base for exploring central London.
What guests say
We had only one evening and overnight at Gunmakers, but it was all great. The bed was so comfortable, temperature control was excellent and we heard, on the 3rd floor, not a sound from the pub or the street. There was ample hot water and a good shower. It is obviously a beloved and welcoming pub. Delicious toasties. Lovely neighborhood. Finally, and so importantly, we felt welcome, cared for and well treated by a responsive, kind and hard-working staff. Thanks, Gunmakers!

We didn't stay, but what a great traditional pub. The food is absolutely outstanding, home made pies, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, burger, all amazing 🤩
