About Kings Cross Hotel

Breakfast is included at the Kings Cross Hotel, served each morning in a bright dining room that guests tend to mention as one of the better parts of a stay here. There's also a bar on site for a drink later in the day, plus a restaurant for something more substantial, so there's little need to head out before you've settled in.

The hotel itself is a straightforward, budget-friendly base on Argyle Street in central London, with 15 rooms that are simple and colourfully decorated rather than plush. Air conditioning, free WiFi and the option of drinks in your room cover the basics, and there's a garden for some outdoor space, along with meeting rooms for anyone travelling on business and facilities for weddings. Free on-site parking is a genuine bonus for a hotel this central.

Location is the strongest card the Kings Cross Hotel has to play, sitting close to King's Cross Station with pubs, bars, restaurants and other eateries all within easy reach nearby. It's a no-frills option, but one that puts you within easy striking distance of the rest of London.

I booked this hotel because it was across the street from both Kings Cross and St Pancreas stations. It was bad. Stairs to the lobby and more stairs to the elevator. Room was small and the twin bed so narrow that I was afraid I’d fall off. It’s your basic hostel room. Nasty man behind the counter was there every time I went in/out. When I left he must have said something to me I didn’t hear. He chased me into the street to yell at me “you don’t answer?” I’m a 65 yo woman traveling alone. He made worry for my safety.

The rooms are simple, but they can offer you a very nice experience. The staff is quite nice and helpful. The location is great, you are close to King's Cross station and from there you can go all around London - it was perfect.

All in all I was happy with my experience here. It's an affordable option in a great location. Not a place to take the wife out for the weekend but perfect to crash and experience London. Shower pressure was great, lovely gentleman at reception.

We were not Happy with the standard of the Room . It was very old and falling apart in places. We were in the basement next to which looked like a laundry room. There were big blue laundry bags that we had to climb over With our cases to get to our room. The room was far too small to sleep 4. We had very small bath towels and hand towels were not provided. Only one pillow per person was allocated. The shower dripped continually and was tiny . There was a bad smell of drains right outside our door and cleaning utensils were stored outside our window in the Basement. . We have photo evidence to provide if necessary. Overall experience of staying at this Hotel is very poor. We will not return
