About Leman Locke

Leman Locke works well for anyone staying in London a little longer than a weekend, whether that's a work trip, a family visit or a stay where a proper kitchen matters. On Leman Street in Aldgate, it puts guests within easy reach of the City and the Tower of London, with the Tube and a wide choice of restaurants and pubs close by.

Rooms come with kitchenettes, so cooking or storing your own food is straightforward, and there's access to laundry facilities for anyone settling in for a few days. Many rooms have good city views, and the hotel includes a restaurant, bar and snack bar on site, along with breakfast, free WiFi, air conditioning and a gym. Family rooms and accessible rooms are available, and there's a business centre and meeting rooms for those combining work with travel. It's worth noting that some rooms show signs of wear, so it suits guests who value space and practicality over polish.

Outside, Aldgate offers plenty to explore, from local eateries and bars to the historic sights around the Tower of London, all within easy walking distance or a short Tube ride away.

I had an excellent experience staying at Leman Locke Aldgate for two weeks. The studio rooms are very cozy and functional, clean, modern, and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the tube, which makes getting around London very easy. There is also a great coffee spot downstairs, which quickly became part of my daily routine. The building itself offers plenty of options, including a gym, a restaurant, and even rooftop yoga on certain days, which is a really nice touch. It is also dog friendly, which adds to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The area has lots of great food spots, and you are within walking distance of places like the Tower of London and Old Street, so there is always something to explore. I would definitely stay here again.

I was extremely disappointed to see Leaman Locke and it's sister property, Buckle Street Studios, repeatedly leaving large amounts of uncontained rubbish out on the street. I observed and have photos of bin bags being left exposed and taking up a significant portion of the pavement, obstructing pedestrians and making it more difficult for wheelchair users, People with pushchairs, and those with mobility issues to pass safely. This is particularly concerning because the area already has an ongoing rat problem. I also observed what appeared to be a rat nest on or the adjacent to the Leaman Locke property, which makes the practice of leaving uncontained outside even more concerning. Exposed bin bags and loose waste are likely to attract more rodants, creating unnecessary hygiene and public health concerns for guests, local residents and neighbouring businesses. The rubbish spreads across the pavement, making the street look dirty, neglected, and unwelcoming. Hotels should be setting a higher standard of cleanliness and responsibility, not contributing to an existing environmental and pest issue. What makes this even more concerning is the fire risk. The street has experienced antisocial behaviour in the past, including bin fires. Leaving piles of combustible rubbish on the pavement creates an avoidable hazard that could put near by residents, businesses, hotel guest and emergency access at risk. Both Leaman Locke and Buckle Street Studios should take greater responsibility for their waste management by ensuring rubbish is securely contained, dose not obstruct the public pavement and is only placed out at the appropriate collection times. Until these issues are addressed, this leaves a very poor impression of their standards, their commitment to public safety and their consideration for the local community.

We stayed here in February for our first trip to London and we were so happy with the place! The apartment was clean and spacious! The little kitchenette was perfect. Nice spacious bathroom with a great shower and relaxing bathtub. We loved the big windows and nice street view. Leman Locke is in a great location close to the Spitalfields market and Brick Lane. It's right across the street from a Tube station so it was so easy to get anywhere in London! Lots of restaurants and little grocery stores nearby. The staff were kind and helpful. Overall 10/10 we definitely hope to stay again for our next trip to London.

We arrived a little early and were greeted by Faiyaz and he allowed us to check in straight away for no additional cost, which was great. The apartment was a little way from central London but only a short stroll to Aldgate east underground, and the tube was fantastic and easy to get around, and I loved the fact that you can tap on and off with a credit card. The fact that we had a washer dryer and the ability to cook small meals was great.
