About London Marriott Hotel County Hall

A 25-metre indoor pool is one of the more surprising finds at London Marriott Hotel County Hall, tucked inside a grand riverside building that once housed London's local government. With 206 rooms across six floors, many looking out over the Thames towards Big Ben and the London Eye, this is a hotel that trades on its position as much as its facilities.

Rooms come with air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms and free WiFi, and family rooms and accessible rooms are available alongside the standard layout. Beyond the pool there's a gym on-site, a restaurant and bar, room service, and the kind of practical extras business and leisure travellers both need - meeting rooms, concierge services, laundry, and valet parking, though this comes at an extra charge. Breakfast is served, kids' meals are catered for, and childcare can be arranged.

Staff are generally singled out for going the extra mile, though service standards are not always described as consistent. The location does much of the heavy lifting regardless - Westminster and the South Bank are within easy reach, and with restaurants, pubs and entertainment nearby, guests rarely need to go far to fill an evening after a day of sightseeing.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this hotel. It may look like it’s in a great location and it may look beautiful, but unfortunately, the customer service will ruin your vacation. Not only did to we experience this, but we were witnes to many other people who lined up at the front desk with various customer service related issues. We checked in early and left our bags. We were never notified that our room was ready and we eventually got back to get our room key at 8pm. Our room had air-conditioning issues and was leaking from the ceiling. We were shown another room, but it smelled like cigarette smoke. We were given a downgraded room that was exceptionally hot, but we were told that the next day our luggage would be sent to an upgraded room because of the disruption and trouble. We left around 8 AM, never received any notification that our room was ready. We came to the hotel around 4 PM only to find that our luggage remained in the second room and our promised upgraded room was not available. We were told that the room was not going to be turned over until 5:30 PM. So for the first half of our vacation, we have been living out of a suitcase for two days so if that’s acceptable to you then book this hotel otherwise I would strongly avoid it. Or if you simply want to experience, what could possibly go wrong in a hotel I would just take a seat in the lobby with a drink in your hand and listen to all of the people complain about how this hotel does not have their “stuff” together. We have very high lifetime status, and I’ve never experience anything like this before, how unfortunate to have this as part of our first time in London!

Wonderful Stay at a Beautifully Preserved Historic Property! We had an amazing stay at the London Marriott Hotel County Hall. The property is stunning — it has beautifully preserved the historic County Hall charm while offering modern comfort. Having breakfast in the old library was such a unique and memorable experience! The staff were exceptionally attentive and welcoming throughout our stay, always going above and beyond to make sure we felt cared for. We did experience a brief issue with the boiler tripping, which caused a temporary loss of hot water and made it difficult to shower after a late flight arrival. However, the engineering team responded promptly, and the issue was fully resolved by the next morning. Their quick attention and professionalism were greatly appreciated. Overall, a fantastic stay in a truly special London hotel with incredible service and historic character with beautiful views of Big Ben. Highly recommend!

Edit: Initially I had some concerns about our rooms and was quick to write a not so glowing review of this property. This property was very quick to address my concerns and make things right. I have to say I am very thankful and impressed with how this was handled. A bit more time on property I can say there are some real positive stand outs in terms of service and experience. Breakfast in the Library has been fantastic and the service very warm and friendly. My experience in the club has been equally positive and the evening staff goes to great effort to provide the best possible service. While I had some initial concerns ultimately I am thankful we chose this property and would absolutely return.

We stayed at the Marriott London County Hall as a family with both young kids and teens, and it was an excellent choice. The location is unbeatable—directly across from Big Ben, steps from the London Eye, and within easy walking distance of many major attractions. This made sightseeing incredibly convenient for all ages and saved us a lot of time and energy. For young children, the riverside walks, nearby attractions, and the hotel’s indoor pool were perfect. For teens, being so close to iconic landmarks, lively areas, and public transport made the trip exciting and easy to navigate independently. The area feels safe, walkable, and well organized, which really matters when traveling as a family. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, giving everyone enough space to relax after busy days. Staff were welcoming and patient with children, which made us feel genuinely comfortable. Overall, this hotel combines a fantastic family‑friendly environment with one of the best locations in London. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it for families with kids of all ages.
