About Moxy London Excel by Marriott

Step into one of the 164 rooms at Moxy London Excel and you get a clean, contemporary space with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and a spot to plug in and unwind, with some rooms looking out over the Royal Docks or London City Airport. Family rooms and accessible rooms are available across the hotel's seven floors, and there's a lift for easy access throughout. Worth noting: air conditioning has been reported as occasionally underpowered, so it's not a given in warmer weather.

Downstairs, there's a bar for an evening drink, a snack bar for something quick, and breakfast available to set guests up for the day. Free WiFi runs throughout, luggage storage is on hand for early arrivals or late departures, and pets are welcome for those travelling with an animal in tow. Staff on site are noted for being friendly and helpful with local recommendations.

The location puts guests close to London City Airport and a nearby DLR station, making onward travel into the city or to Canary Wharf straightforward. Restaurants, pubs and bars are all within easy reach nearby, and chargeable on-site parking is available for those arriving by car.

We live in London but escaped during the heatwave as we don’t have an aircon at home. The hotel is super close to DLR. The reception staff are friendly and accommodating. We were able to check in around midday and they were happy to give us a room with an airport view ✈️ The room itself was just perfect! Also we’ve received a voucher for drinks in the bar which was a really nice gesture. Hopefully there won’t be more heatwaves this year, but we would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends from other countries while they’re visiting us

I had a wonderful stay at MOXY London Excel. The room was spacious, modern, secure, and exceptionally clean, making it a very comfortable place to relax. One of the highlights was the stunning view from the room. I could watch planes taking off and landing at London City Airport, along with beautiful views of the Royal Docks and the River Thames in the distance. It was especially impressive during sunrise and sunset. The hotel is conveniently located, only about a 10-minute walk from London City Airport, making it an excellent choice for both business and leisure travellers. The room rates are also very reasonable for the quality and location. The 24-hour bar is a great feature, perfect for enjoying drinks or snacks at any time of the day. The reception team was welcoming, friendly, and professional throughout my stay. The hotel also has a spacious lobby and restaurant area, making it ideal for families, groups, or anyone looking for a comfortable place to relax or socialise. I would highly recommend MOXY London Excel for its excellent service, fantastic location, clean and comfortable rooms, and beautiful waterfront views. I look forward to staying here again.

Had a fantastic stay at Moxy Excel London this week and honestly couldn’t fault the experience. Although we were only there for two nights and spent most of our time at ExCeL London for a trade show, the hotel still made a big impression on us. From the moment we checked in, the service was exceptional, friendly, welcoming, and genuinely warm. After long days out at Excel, it was great to come back to such a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. We especially enjoyed heading to the Moxy bar in the evenings, which had a great vibe and was the perfect place to unwind after dinner. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well designed, exactly what we needed for a short stay where we were mostly out and about. Everything felt easy and hassle-free, which made a big difference. What really stood out, though, was the staff. A special mention to Andreia, who went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. She, along with her colleagues, were incredibly attentive, friendly, and always made us feel welcome whenever we returned to the hotel. Their positive attitude and genuine care really made the experience memorable. Even though we didn’t spend loads of time in the hotel, the service and atmosphere left a lasting impression. We’ll definitely be back couldn’t ask for a better place to stay when visiting the area!

I stayed at the Moxy Excel for five nights two weeks ago after receiving a good rate during a week where London hotels were almost entirely booked out. It's a solid option for a stay in London on a budget. It's a three star hotel, so I wasn't expecting The Ritz, but it exceeded expectations. The rooms are spacious, the staff helpful, the bar always open, and the location has public transport opportunities even if it's a tad further out. I would skip the food, but other than that I have no complaints. We had an issue with the water one day in our room, and it was resolved within ten minutes. Things happen, and it's good when staff are competent, answer the phone right away, and know how to fix the situation without a fuss. If you're looking for a budget hotel in London and don't mind a slightly longer commute to the tourist attractions, it totally does the job.
