We had a great stay! The location was absolutely perfect and felt very safe. It made it incredibly easy to get around the city and visit all the places we wanted to see. If you plan to spend most of your day exploring and simply need a comfortable place to return to and sleep, this hotel is an excellent choice. However, if you are looking for a hotel that will be a major part of your overall vacation experience, with lots of amenities or spaces to enjoy during the day, you may be disappointed. The main strength of this hotel is its great location. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist. Our room also had a small kitchenette, which was very convenient for reheating food and making coffee. Overall, it offers great value for travelers who prioritize a central location, convenience, safety, and a comfortable place to sleep while enjoying everything the city has to offer.

I went with my mother who booked the hotel. From the beginning there was issues with her receiving spam messages on WhatsApp with personal information claiming to be Nox asking for additional sensitive personal information. Thankfully she called booking.com who sorted her out, however if you value your privacy I would recommend not booking with the chain as there is obviously someone there ready to take advantage of older patrons. In terms of the rooms, our stay was similar to a lobster being boiled alive in a saucepan. We entered our room at around 10pm during the recent heatwave only to find the main AC was not working (a key issue that has been noted in reviews for at least two years that have been buried under similar looking positive ones). There was instead a machine on the floor, that was turned off, which worked as well as a handheld fan. There was no point in that room where we were not sweating to the extent that our suncream would not even sink into our skin. We assumed this was an issue in all the rooms however when we left three days later, after waking up most of the night in hot sweats in a room that had an internal temperature of 45 degrees; we saw the room (while being cleaned) opposite us had a fully working system. After raising this issue to the receptionist she claimed that “some people just like it hot” so did not seem to see that such discrepancies in quality was an issue. Similar to other reviews I can concur that the rooms were tiny, unsuited for multiple travellers and lacked appropriate hotel attributes like a safe or fridge. In addition, we were given the wrong suitcase when coming in to collect our things later in the day after morning checkout. There was no apology from the lady nor concern that she may have given away someone’s valuables. If you have any care for your quality of life, personal items or sensitive data do not stay at the Nox Hyde Park or any of their chains.
