About Olympic House Hotel
Sussex Gardens runs through one of Paddington's quieter residential stretches, lined with terraced townhouses just a short walk from the station and the green space of Hyde Park beyond. Olympic House Hotel occupies one of these buildings, giving guests an easy base for exploring central London without the higher prices of the West End.
The hotel has 40 rooms, kept spotlessly clean, though some are on the compact side and air conditioning performance can vary. Facilities extend well beyond the rooms themselves, with a restaurant and bar on site, a gym, spa and sauna, an indoor swimming pool, a garden, and meeting rooms for those combining business with a stay. Breakfast is served each morning, free WiFi runs throughout, and staff at the concierge desk are consistently described as friendly and helpful. Free on-site parking is a rare bonus for a London hotel.
Paddington Station is close enough for quick links across the city and beyond, while Hyde Park offers a proper green escape when the streets feel busy. Pubs, restaurants and other eateries sit nearby for evenings out, making this a practical, well-equipped choice for anyone wanting comfort without the central London price tag.
What guests say
The room and bathroom are extreamly small. They charge the use of A/C apart (£10/day) but you're only informed at the front desk. The breakfast isn't good at all. The responsible lady for the set up tells you where to sit, sharing table with other people, even when there are empty tables. And there are really few options (toast - that they give you - jelly, cooked eggs and a small packed cake). The only good thing is that the Paddigton Station is a block away. Do not recommend it here.

Very disappointing stay at Olympic House Hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights and paid approximately £350, expecting at least basic comfort and hospitality. Unfortunately, the experience was far below expectations. From the day we checked in, the air conditioning in our room was not working properly. When we raised the issue, we were repeatedly told different things: first that it would be fixed the next day, then that the AC only operates until 12:30 AM due to the hotel's own policy. This made absolutely no sense, especially during unusually warm weather. To make matters worse, when we complained about the lack of air conditioning, we were told that the hotel never advertised AC and that we had not specifically paid for AC. This response was extremely frustrating. When guests pay hundreds of pounds for a stay in London, it is reasonable to expect basic room comfort, particularly when travelling with a 4-year-old child. The hotel owner even suggested paying extra for air conditioning, while at the same time enforcing a policy that switches it off after 12:30 AM. We found this contradictory and unacceptable. There was no satisfactory solution offered, and the overall attitude towards guest concerns was disappointing. Our family spent multiple uncomfortable nights during what was supposed to be a short and enjoyable London trip. I would strongly recommend future guests clarify the hotel's air-conditioning policy before booking, especially if travelling with children or during warmer months.

The hotel was nice for our two nights stay, it looks a little outdated but the rooms were perfectly fine! They even had a smart TV Good breakfast with friendly staff, the breakfast room is a small so when it’s busy you have to sit with other guests but that’s okay! The breakfast was small but everything we needed to get started. I recommend this hotel for short stays

We have been here previously, and liked it. As we had the chance to stay there again, we took it. Still a good place to stay. Nice staff, good and clean rooms and equipment. We always appreciate when there is enough selves, hooks, hangers and closets. What we did not like was that the heating was off during the day time. It went on at 5 pm. The other way around would be better, I think. The breakfast is very modest as well. It is OK, but after three breaks it gets dull. Extra thanks to the nice ladies at the breakfast.
