About Park Avenue Hotel

Stamford Hill, in the London borough of Hackney, is home to the Park Avenue Hotel, a small 17-room base for visitors wanting a straightforward stay in the capital. The area has restaurants, a pub or bar and other entertainment within easy reach, making it a practical spot for exploring beyond the immediate neighbourhood.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and a minibar fridge stocked with drinks, along with the usual comforts expected of a city hotel. Breakfast is served on site, and guests have access to free WiFi, a garden, luggage storage and a laundry service, with childcare also available for those travelling with family. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, though some visitors have noted that rooms are not always kept in the best condition and that staff are not always easy to find when needed.

For those wanting a day out further afield, Chessington World of Adventures is a notable point of interest nearby. Closer to home, the surrounding streets offer plenty of places to eat and drink, making Park Avenue Hotel a workable option for travellers who prioritise location and warmth of welcome over polish.

I booked this hotel so I could attend a concert at the Tottenham Stadium. The hotel is located approx 50 mins walk from the stadium, or 25 minutes by bus. Stamford Hill station is a 5 minute walk. The hotel was easy to find, set back from the road. It is attached to a restaurant which I was I initially worried about re noise and smells. However, I was pleasantly surprised. No smells and hardly any noise. My room was on the ground floor along the corridor past the restaurant kitchen. I got the last room - a single, and at quite short notice, which was reflected in the price - £180. However, I really did not want the hassle of getting a tube to central London, a train to Orpington and then driving for an hour home after the gig, so the hotel was the best option. The room itself was very clean and nicely decorated. The en suite was better than some I've seen in more expensive chain hotels. It was very clean and the shower was massive. Complimentary shower gel, shampoo, soap and toothbrush/paste were provided. Bed was comfy with crisp white bedding. Additional items in the room included a microwave, fridge and a safe. A desk in the corner and TV on the wall finished it off. Large open wardrobe with rail and storage more than sufficient for a week's stay I would suggest. The best bit? A full size remote controlled air con unit meant the heatwave (and the walk back after the gig had ended) were soon forgotten. No breakfast offered, however, there was a very tasty Jewish bakery just along from the hotel which had an excellent array of food. Check in and out was simple, key card provided and no hassles. The only downside was a lack of a kettle. Which meant I couldn't have my daily cup of tea on waking. I survived though, you'll be glad to know. Aside from the price this is a pleasant place to stay in north London.

Here’s a short version: Extremely dirty hotel. The room was not properly cleaned, and the overall hygiene was unacceptable. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend staying here.

I don’t recommend this hotel. We had a very bad experience. In the first room they gave us, the electrical outlets were not working. After we changed rooms, it started raining into the room in the morning through the light fixture in the ceiling. There is also no one at the reception, and the hotel seems completely empty. This situation is unacceptable and very disappointing.

I absolutely LOVED this hotel! It is a bit tucked away, but the rooms are wonderful, clean, and very comfy! They have AC, which helps those warm afternoons. There are plenty of outlets and places to put your items. There’s TV along with a reading lamp right above your head. The bed has been the COMFIEST bed I have ever been in when it comes to hotels and the blanket was also warm when you blast the AC too cold at night. The front desk was lovely and made sure to explain the rules, and insured you knew how to get in once they locked the door. All the room doors have key cards for security. I wasn’t rudely awakened nor had any issues when it came to staff. I was told good morning and was wished safe travels when I left. The hotel has a bakery not even 5 minutes from it and it’s close to plenty of bus stops as well as an overground rail. Shops are plentiful and a market is only a bus ride away. I will 100% be coming back to this location the next time I visit London!
