About Sonder Camden Road
Thirty air-conditioned rooms make Sonder Camden Road a practical base in Greater London, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The hotel keeps things simple with 24 hour reception and free WiFi throughout, so arrivals at any hour are straightforward and there's always someone on hand to help.
Rooms here are generally spacious and staff are noted for being professional and helpful, though some rooms have been found poorly maintained or missing basic furniture, so it's worth checking what you're booking before you travel. There's no restaurant on site, but pubs, bars and eateries are all within easy reach nearby, along with local entertainment options.
The surrounding area gives good access to Upper Holloway and the wider Camden Road neighbourhood, with Chessington World of Adventures also within reach for a day out further afield. It suits guests who want a straightforward, well-located stay rather than a full-service hotel experience.
What guests say
The Staff was nice. The Location was pretty OK. Still very busy at night with lots of sirens. So Earplugs are kind of a must. But I got to all my planned locations and activities just fine from here. HOWEVER. When I checked in first, I got a Hotel Room downstairs. Basement level basically. Now when you get down there it already smells musty and the carpeted floor looks questionable. I thought it was only the hallway, however when I entered the room I was immediately hit with an even stronger odor. I checked out the room and was met with black mold in the bathroom (and not just a little) as well as across from the bed, by the heater (Pictures attached). I am not surprised by the mold given the tiny window. To top it off the curtains were partly detached which is awkward because the bed is right by the window which faces out front to the main road. I went to the reception and told them about the mold issue and asked for a new room. Because simply breathing in there felt like a hazard to my health. I was told the hotel was fully booked but if I spoke with the receptionist in the morning around 9 AM maybe we could switch my room out. So i spend a night in that room.. I had to leave my things from 9 AM to 3 PM at the front desk while venturing out but when I came back I got a room that was miles better. However even here the toilet brush was rusted shut same as the room prior and the shower head had no waterpressure because about 2/3rds or the water was spraying out the hose itself on the back and the sink's drain seemed pretty clogged as well. For 137,93 Euros I would expect more. Yes London is expensive. But almost 140 Euros for this when it was booked way in advance too? To top it off I met someone going to the same concert as me and staying at the same hotel. Turns out I got her room while she got the basement room with the mold still thriving. Not even a quick mold treatment. This is ridiculous and negligent.

Our room was deluxe room, but did not have a table to put the kettle on. The bathroom was very small and had a bad smell. The airconditioning was very good in room. The bed squeeked everytime we moved. The staff working the front desk were nice and helpful.

I booked this via booking.com and to be honest saw.mixed reviews on here so was a little bit concerned however we have just checked in this afternoon and its a really solid hotel I actually work in the industry so have high expectations but for a london hotel at the 100 mark, im happy with this. Receptionist Tafar (apologies if spelled wromg) was lovely, personable and went out of his way to sort us out a room asap even tho we turned up super early. The rooms are lovely. Im in a standard double (see pics) Its very well-maintained, clean and comes with little extras like bottled water, shower gel and hair conditioner. Shower is very clean and decor is simple but modern. Tv and air-conditioning was a nice surprise too. Location is excellent near Camden Town . Very happy with this hotel. Also please note, from.what I understand, alot of thr reviews are pre the new management being here so keep that in mind . Give it a chance

The room was immaculate, clean and tidy. The only thing that let it down was the shower heads. The need a good clean. We had 2 single beds and there was plenty of room. Kettle, tea and coffee was available in the room. The member of staff was so nice, polite and approachable. It was close to the O2 in Mentish town. I do think that you get quite a bit for the money and if anything I would come back again
