About Charlie Hotel

Charlie Hotel suits travellers who want a straightforward, affordable base in London rather than a polished city retreat. With 20 rooms, including family options, it works well for those on a budget who care more about a decent breakfast and a friendly welcome than plush surroundings. Free on-site parking is a genuine bonus for anyone arriving by car, which is not always easy to find this close to the centre.

Rooms come with modern bathrooms, and guests can expect a cooked breakfast with a good range of options each morning. That said, some rooms have been known to show their age, and service standards can vary, so this is a better fit for easy-going travellers than those expecting consistency at every turn. A garden offers a spot to relax, and there's free WiFi, luggage storage, and both business and concierge services for guests mixing work with their stay.

Kentish Town is under a mile away, and the area has pubs, restaurants and other eateries nearby for evenings out. Chessington World of Adventures is also within reach, making the hotel a workable option for families planning a day trip. It's a practical choice for short stays where location and price matter more than luxury.

Following another reviewer's advice I decided to ignore the previous negative reviews and take a chance on this hotel. I figured worst case it was only one night! I am so happy to confirm that the room was lovely, bed very comfy and it felt very clean and cosy. Nice quiet location and the 24/7 coffee machine in the lobby was very appreciated! The guy running this place is very kind and friendly and I got the distinct feeling nothing I asked would have been too much trouble! Breakfast was self service and was bacon, scrambled eggs, beans and mushrooms. (With toast to order) very yummy and we had no complaints! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend staying here to all our friends and family. (Very mild suggestion- I would have really liked a full length mirror in the room!)

To everyone thinking about booking and reading old reviews The hotel has recently had a makeover and all old reviews should be ignored. We booked a night as a group of three attending a nearby concert. The room was spotless with comfortable beds and an ensuite toilet/shower and they even provided toiletries. The staff there are amazing, they were very polite and helpful throughout our stay. In the morning we had everything needed for a breakfast from eggs and bacon to yogurts and pain au chocolate so no one can complain with the options provided. The hotel is also a walk away from underground, a train station and bus routes, it was easy to navigate to and from. All in all very happy with the hotel and would definitely book again.

The hotel was lovely and as described. We wanted something basic to lay our heads down. The beds were comfy, the room was a good temperature and it was clean, so was the bathroom. The people that were running it were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was also very nice. Easy to get to from the underground.

After the renovation, Charlie Hotel looks absolutely bravo. It was already good before, but now the owner has clearly taken all the compliments and reviews seriously and renovated the hotel from head to toe. The rooms, bathrooms, and dining area are clean, modern, and spotless. The location, hygiene, price, and warm hospitality are the biggest strengths of this hotel. I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again on my next visit. I would also recommend it to anyone looking for the best place to stay.
