We went to Famous Cock Tavern to watch an Arsenal game. The atmosphere was great due to Arsenal winning. I am not sure whether I'd visit if there isn't a game I want to watch on the many screens. The bar feels a little touristy and a pint of lager is more than £8 which feels steep.

Came here to watch the F1 and loved the booths with their own screens – such a great setup. The service was warm and friendly, though it would be helpful if cutlery and napkins were provided automatically with food orders. The 1kg Korean wings were tasty and satisfying. The fries, advertised as skin-on, unfortunately lacked skin and didn’t have much flavor, and the flat white was served piping hot, which made it difficult to enjoy. Overall, a pleasant visit with a few small areas that could be improved.

Visited The Famous Cock during the Arsenal parade, so we fully expected it to be busy and a bit manic. They opened late due to staffing issues, which was frustrating at first, but understandable given how packed the area was. Once inside, the start was pure chaos. Staff seemed unsure what they were doing and it didn’t feel like anyone was really pulling things together as a team. Food was also wildly inconsistent, mainly due to a lack of bread. Some of us ended up with a burger bun and one sausage, while others had proper bread and more than one sausage, so it did feel a bit all over the place. Then Ellie appeared and genuinely steered the ship back on course. She apologised for the issues, had a great personality, and made a massive difference to the entire experience. If it wasn’t for Ellie, this would probably be a three star review at best. Peak Ellie energy was when security tried not to let her back into the pub, which gave us all a laugh. For such a massive event day, despite the issues, Ellie made sure it still ended up being an enjoyable experience. She deserves full credit for pulling things back and making the visit feel fun rather than just chaotic. The icing on the cake was the Arsenal Guinness with the print directly on the pint. I am usually very much a “no logo on the foam” guy, but for this one I was fully in. A chaotic start, but Ellie saved it. Would definitely give it another go on a normal day.
