What diners say
I am a loyal Hilton Honors member and stayed at this hotel for three nights earlier this month. I am typically happy with any Hilton brand hotel, but I felt compelled to write a review because I was extra happy on this visit. This was my first solo vacation and while I stayed at this hotel, I did not feel alone. The staff were so friendly everywhere I went. I was pleasantly surprised to find many of them remembered me from day to day and treated me like a welcome friend. The front desk staff were friendly, and I never had to wait long for assistance. The Writing Room staff and Breakfast staff were the ones that really impressed me. After meeting me just once Noor and Bavan, both remembered me, and remembered my requests from day to day. As an American who walks around with on of those big annoying water cups, I was constantly asking for ice as the hotel has no machines and I really hate room temp water. They never acted annoyed and were extremely helpful. I had a drink in the Writing Room each day and had dinner one evening as well. They were so pleasant, always smiling and I never had to look for them, they were always on top of helping me and asking if I was ok. The breakfast staff was also super friendly and remembered me from day to day. Overall – my room was small but that was expected. The room was nice, had great AC, a nice tub and comfortable bedding as usual. The extra-large soft towels were a nice touch. The hallways were always clean and smelled fresh. It has an adequate fitness center to do everything I need to complete my lifting work out and cardio. The breakfast options were much better than I expected, there were ample options and I especially love when they have made to order eggs. They have two coffee machines to make lattes, cappuccinos well, not the cheap versions. They had what seemed to be options for Europeans, locals and Americans as our breakfast menus are different. This trip was amazing and the staff at this hotel only made it even better. Thank you!

I’m a Hilton Honors member and have just spent 7 nights at the DoubleTree by Hilton London - West End. The location is strategic, near Russell Square & the British Museum. The neighborhood is safe. Easy access to public transportation & halal food restaurants. What also made my days was the room always being clean & neat. Super thanks to Shaheed, who made the huge Swan art towel, & Jyoti, who made the petite Flower art towel. You guys were really thoughtful ❤️

We recently have been spending six nights in room 505 at this hotel. Upon arrival, the check-in process was nice and welcoming, setting a positive tone for our stay. The staff were kind and attentive. However, we encountered several issues with the room itself. There were no drawers available for storing our belongings, which made keeping the space organized difficult. Additionally, the bathroom lacked outlets, so using electric devices was inconvenient. There were also no shelves for placing toothbrushes and toothpaste, which would have added to our comfort. Another concern was the hot tub faucets, which appeared to be quite old and confusing to operate. It would be helpful if the hotel provided instructions for their use. We also noticed that the drainage cover was dirty inside, which detracted from the overall cleanliness. Given these shortcomings in amenities, we were surprised to learn that the hotel has a four-star rating. While the service and staff were excellent, the room features could benefit from improvement.

Super, super expensive for a what is a basic, mediocre room. It was fine, but I expected better. The pros: excellent air con, fantastic location, clean room, comfortable bed. The cons: The room air was stale and the pillow smelled sharp and mildewy. The bathtub occasionally backed up and would not drain. The walls had small drill holes that had been mended, but not mended well. The room did not have: a coffee machine (did have a kettle), makeup mirror, refrigerator, pad of paper. Not enough UK electrical outlets at the desk (only one euro plug!). They also charged £2 for water for non-Diamond members, which seems super tacky for an already expensive room! This would have all been acceptable for a cheaper hotel, but at this price point, I expected better. The Radisson Blus down the street are cheaper and better quality.
