About Holiday Inn Express Newcastle City Centre
Holiday Inn Express Newcastle City Centre is a modest five-storey building on Waterloo Square, with only 13 rooms giving it a smaller, more manageable feel than many chain hotels in the city. It sits within easy reach of the train station and the local attractions of central Newcastle, making it a practical base for both short breaks and business trips.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and the option of family or accessible layouts, with drinks available in room and reliable showers that make a noticeable difference after a day of sightseeing. The hotel has a restaurant and bar on site, along with a snack bar, and breakfast is included, with gluten-free options available, though some guests have found the breakfast offering a little limited. Meeting rooms and business services are also available for those travelling for work, and a lift serves all floors.
Pets are welcome, and luggage storage is on hand for early arrivals or late departures. There's no parking at the property, so travelling by train suits the location well, with further pubs, bars and restaurants close by for evenings out. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, adding to the sense of a well-run, no-frills stay in the heart of the city.

We stayed here overnight. Staff were lo very. The rooms were basic but clean, comfy and quiet. Breakfast was included in tge room rate and ut was a great breakfast. Hit abd cold buffet, juice and coffee. The breakfast staff team were fantastic. One if the best I've experienced. The hotel was busy due to Pride weekend but there were loads of staff tidying tables, replenishing the buffet and directing guests to tables. Excellent restaurant management and lovely hard working staff team. We will definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay here to be able to attend the Mani-fest event at The Assembly rooms. We were greeted by Derek with a friendly approach and chat and he explained everything and really looked after us for the whole stay. Making recommendations for restaurants, drinks and deserts. Room was comfortable. Shower was amazing! Breakfast lovely. All staff friendly and attentive. Really great stay!!!!
