About Hotel Indigo Newcastle

Fenkel Street sits right in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne, putting Hotel Indigo within easy reach of the city's bars, restaurants and entertainment without the noise finding its way into the rooms themselves. It's a practical base for exploring, with the added convenience of on-site parking that's not always easy to find in the city centre.

The hotel has 148 rooms, air conditioned and en-suite, with several offering step-free access. Breakfast is served each morning and is a genuine highlight, while the on-site restaurant and bar cover other meals and evening drinks, with outdoor seating available. A gym, lift access, room service and concierge support round out the practical side, and the hotel also caters for weddings and business events with dedicated facilities.

Staff are generally attentive and the location makes it simple to walk to nearby pubs, restaurants and attractions, including Beamish Open Air Museum a little further afield. It's worth noting that a handful of guests have found the response to urgent issues slower than expected, though day-to-day service and comfort are consistently well regarded.

I had a great experience staying here with my cousin for 1 night. It's location couldn't be better, as it's less than 5mins walk from the train station, as well as some fantastic bars for drinking & dancing! Having said that, it was so peaceful and we weren't bothered by any noise whatsoever, even though we had a balcony room. The lady who greeted us upon our arrival was so lovely and extremely helpful - as soon as she heard our reason for staying, she gave us the BEST information on where the bars were depending on our taste in music etc.. She also informed us as soon as our Uber Eats food had arrived! Lol. The room was lovely. Loved the fact that it had a mini fridge as well as an iron AND ironing board (don't always get those!), not to mention the disposable slippers!! (LOVE those!). But perhaps one of the best things about the room was the soundproofing.. Me & my cousin had a real good sing & dance while we got ready, after connecting my Spotify to the TV, but couldn't hear a thing when we stood in the hall (we checked, to be fair to other guests). The bed was really comfy, and I found the 12 o'clock checkout time extremely convenient. I would 100% stay here again, you couldn't possibly get a better location, and I thought the service was fantastic! Thank you so much for a lovely stay x

Had a wonderful 4 day stay at Hotel Indigo recently. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for exploring all areas of Newcastle. Common areas were clean, elegant and comfortable. Absolutely loved my room. Bed and pillows were great, bathroom spacious and well appointed. There were several Type C USB ports in the room to charge devices but you might also want to bring along a Type G outlet adapter for non-USB electric needs. will definitely stay here again.

The location is excellent and hard to beat; however, the overall stay was disappointing. Check-in was let down by a staff member who came across as cold and unwelcoming, which was also noted by others in our group. Unfortunately, there were also issues with the room — I noticed a bug on the bed, and there was a constant electrical pulsing noise coming from the ceiling throughout the night, which made it difficult to sleep. By the morning the noise had stopped, which made it all the more frustrating that it had been present overnight. Breakfast was another let-down. Although it was nicely presented, the quality of the ingredients did not match — the bacon had a cheap, artificial taste and the eggs were unfortunately quite slimy. That said, the breakfast staff were excellent and provided very good service, which is worth recognising. Overall, while there are some positives, they did not outweigh the negatives on this occasion. I stayed for work, but I wouldn’t choose to return.

Wow, this hotel is perfect, the city location with plenty of parking at a decent rate for a city centre location. Check in was quick and smooth. Room was amazing. I had room of which was a king room with a balcony. Stunning, can imagine ita a fabulous addition in the warmer weather. Bar and restaurant is well stocked, and brilliant staff, special shout out to Phil who was working the bar and restaurant during our stay. Not sure he ever went home..🙂 super friendly and bloody brilliant at his job. A real asset to the hotel and the team worked like clockwork together. Nothing was too much trouble during my stay. Thank you, we will be back.
