About Pensthorpe Summer Camping and Glamping
Tucked beside Pensthorpe Natural Park near Fakenham, this summer pop-up site feels more like a mini eco-resort than a basic pitch. Several onsite lakes and wildlife gardens provide a genuinely scenic backdrop, while families benefit from two separate play parks, a cafe, and a well-stocked shop—all without leaving the campground. Campfires are allowed, and dogs are welcome, adding to the relaxed, outdoorsy atmosphere.
The convenience is hard to beat if you're travelling with children or simply want facilities close at hand. That said, it's a seasonal operation, so check availability carefully. For a Norfolk base that combines proper nature with creature comforts, Pensthorpe hits a sweet spot.

What visitors say
We'd been to the main Pensthorpe reserve on our way back from a trip to Wells, taking advantage of the Gardener's World 2-for-1 offer, and spotted that they had a campsite. Reading a few reviews, we were really tempted to give it a go - the facilities here really elevate the experience. We thought that access to pristine toilets and hot showers, kettles, microwave, fridge and freezer, pot washing and complimentary tea, coffee and milk - would all take a lot of the 'stress' out of camping. We weren't disappointed. Everything was spot on, and the only suprise we had was how quiet the site was. I think there were only two pitches and maybe three of the more permanent bell-tents occupied during our stay. We also enjoyed having access to the park on one evening, and being able to get pizza from the cafe on our arrival night. We had a superb time and would definitely return again in the future. Pensthorpe seem to be very willing to listen to feedback to make a success of the camping and I hope that for their sake the effort that's clearly gone into this enterprise is rewarded with greater occupation in the future.
